B&b's Love Nest @ Bishan

B&B's Love Nest @ Bishan t-blog

It was a long search since Dec 2008. From joining HDB sales queue to Fernvale to AMK and Bishan.

I was determined to focus on Bishan area and spent 2 months visiting different parts of Bishan old and new. Somehow I just enjoy the little tranquil feeling I get from the environment. Luckily, this particular agent who specialises in Bishan, has been very patient with my HTB and myself.

In fact, we applied for HLE in advanced during Jan'09. And we were thinking of giving up when it expires. We nearly have some hits but the feelings were not entirely right.

One fine day, HTB called me while I was away from town for work and told me about this unit which he feels right about. The next day, I flew back and visited the unit right after landing! We then visited the unit for consecutive three days - day & night. Negotiated and exercise option within a week.

Now I'm counting down to May 2009 for keys collection!

Here the floorplan:

We will be rendering service from a non-commercial FSM. No concrete renovation plans until after the FS audit.

Furniture Hunt (Part 1)

HTB wasn't very sure of the exact theme for the house so we seek inspiration from furniture window-shopping.

Last weekend, IFC @ Sungei Kadut was our first stop. The hunt was on for a suitable sofa and round glass dining table.

There's a SC Furniture there carrying zen furniture...not to be confused with S&C Furniture @ AMK.

Somehow we got stuck in Brighton Furniture for more than an hr with a salesman. He is not pushy and in fact very generous with knowledge sharing on sofas.

And the guy from celini was throwing discounts for every furniture we looked at...desperado?

Yet we hardly see a nice round glass dining table, seems rare. :(

However, no sparks @ IFC

Furniture Hunt (Part 2)

This weekend, IMM was our second hunting ground.

We started specifically at St Louis and never left until closing time!

Sofa was the main hunt but spotted an interesting bedframe and the lady also introduced Napure latex mattress. Anyone review this mattress brand before?

edited: Just found a warning against this brand - not made in germany. See link.

Back to sofa...I fell in love with an entire setup. Geez hahaha :dribble:

Bishan units are well known for the beam so space is pretty much "perimeterised".

She asked about our floor plan (we didn't bring it out) and drew the sofa layout for us, giving us several different ideas. I'm very pleased with her attention.

FYI: If a salesperson really did his/her job well, I always shake his/her hand and thank right before leaving. And so I did for salesperson from IFC's Brighton and IMM's St Louis.

Anyway, didn't get anything yet :P

DIY Project

The other day I was counting the number of pair of shoes I have....more than 20!!! And HTB said he has probably more than 10 pairs!

OMG...storage crisis!

I like to keep my not-frequently-used shoes in the shoe box but sometimes you just don't get the same sizes of boxes.

Did some reading and magazine flipping...found a IKEA shoe box that is W23xD35xH16cm (about the width of two really really slim shoe boxes)

Quite a big shoe box than normal right? The trick is...I'm a size 3-4 so I can fit two pairs of shoes in one!

Even if I can't fit all shoes in the cabinet, I can always stack in the storeroom neatly.

PS: It has a clear front view that allows you to see what's inside. And its washable!

Whether this works or not...we shall see...hahaha :P
