  1. hey qiqi, my place mostly white too.. been nearly 6mths now, n so far so good. its hubby's idea actually to have house mostly white cos it looks brighter n more spacious. we jz throw in a bit of color here n there like diff color cushions for sofa, vases, etc.. our sofa is grey in color btw.. i kinda vetoed on the white sofa.. i usually use those melamine sponge to clean the wall if see smudges tts hard to clean. but do note tt it will dull shiny surfaces tho.. like weiwei say, white floor tiles a bit higher maintenance, can even see one strand of hair on the floor but its ok for me cos i dun mind vacuuming most times.. only my bedrooms, we use laminate flooring. think u shud go wif ur heart on wat u like for ur reno.. good luck !!
  2. ya i saw the karlsson in molecule.. but dun hv ones we saw n liked in the karlsson website.. actually shud ask molecule if they can bring in...
  3. haha.. ya agree, men....
  4. oh my god... i get the feeling u n my hubby can be good frens... prob can tok abt matrix n transformers n stuff like these endlessly...
  5. haha.. ur story very cute... im using the dyson vacuum, hubby bought it, at first i was like - are u like insane, its so expensive! - but im loving it now.. m planning to jz put somewhere near hubby's display cabinet, part of display..
  6. mmm... it does scratch if i pull or drag things across on the solid surface top, but the scratches are not tt noticeable, to me anyways... till now no stains yet, but i dun really cook much but then again my hubby uses his espresso machine very frequently n most times i find a little spills of coffee on the kitchen top, jz wipe wif damp cloth, so far no stains. but i heard tt u can use those white melamine sponge thingy to wipe off tough stains. jz tt it kinda dulls shiny surface a little.
  7. haha.. ya hubby has a lot of ppl's envy cos i didnt mind the 2-walls of display of his star wars.. he has been collecting his stuff more than 10yrs i tink, so wat the heck... oh i luv my WIW but somehow the floor get some dust in there.. prob cos my toilet opens into it.. might wanna take note of tt.. but i jz vacuum so its ok.. (i usually do the vacuuming, hubby does the mopping, i hate mopping!!) actually hv lived in the flat since christmas last yr. its jz tt we jz put in the display cabinet recently, cos it was quite exp, so decided to hold for a bit.. my place is supposedly minimalist as well so not much furnishing.. dun even hv a coffee table.. still trying to find some decor for the place tho.. jz bought a frosted vase from boconcept recently.. trying to find a clock we like for the living room. we like the karlsson ones we saw online but hvnt seen in the shops here. then we were in hour glass recently, saw a breitling wall clock, was so nice. prob wud bust my budget.. heh.. but the sales guy said its not for sale anyways.. wonder where i can find...
  8. hey hey congrats! cleaning shud be ok if you do not have too many things on the floor n since u are going for minimalist, shud not be a prob. good luck!
  9. wow.. i am totally taken by your place.. its amazing, look like taken out from a magazine! and its so uncluttered! loved that!
  10. definitely shud call them to ask for a new one.. shud not accept defective goods.. i love ur flooring n foldable balcony doors btw..
  11. hey i think both v-lux n heritage has pretty good svc n after sales-svc.. but if u are looking for downlights n fluorescent lights, i think lightings.com is much cheaper... they hv good svc there too.. happy shopping !!

  15. lightings.com.sg think a lot of ppl here get from them.. cheapest ard n pretty good svc.. http://www.lightings.com.sg/abtus.html good luck !!
  16. thanks belquek, yup moved in after christmas last year.. jz that still hv a lot of boxes of hubby's toys to unpack into his recently built cabinet... cant wait to hv all the boxes gone !! so how was ur shopping trip today?
  17. i like the all red one.. nice 3Ds btw..
  18. tink maybe warrior meant the placing of ur tv console cos if place in the centre of ur wall opp ur entrance, the moment open ur front door can see ur tv console?
  19. very interesting... cant wait to see everything all done up..
  20. haha... will post pics of it when hubby finally puts in everything.. estimating abt 2-3mths.. ya.. all his star wars stuff !! !! !! crazy rite..
  21. opennet came to put up the trunkings today.. from front door into false ceiling under beam into false ceiling again out of false ceiling to edge of windows .................................. cant really see when blinds are down connect to under tv console - the only place where trunking is most visible.. tink maybe jz need to paint the trunkings white, maybe then it wont be so visible...
  22. mickey, ur inbox is full!! anyways... im actually trying to decide the best place to put the fan too.. hubby tinks we shud get another... *faint* but in the states, they sell the 2 sizes in diff price, so strange.. anyways, the fan does hv a soft whirring sound when on full blast. but it is quite powerful.. tink u shud get it, goes nicely in ur place cos everything so nice!
  23. i bought a lot of my stuff from OM though.. think we could hv had the same very long-winded salesguy.. most of the time, hubby tuned out or cut him short when he starts jabbering away.. but i must say their after sales is quite good. cos we found that the finishing on our dining table was not very nice, so called them n had them replace it but the second time, we still werent very satisfied with the new table so they had to send a third one.. so thot it was quite responsible of them. oh n good luck on ur reno !! we had angeline as my ID too..
  24. haha... we did that initially with our place too cos hubby is quite particular as well.. except we didnt use up the whole roll !! but now abt 6mths of living in, new cracks are forming, hubby said cos of earth movements, stuff like this will definitely happened? anyways, got our ID to get the plaster guy to plaster some spots again now waiting to paint over. also advise from nippon paint customer svc, if u dun mind a sheen finishing on walls, then can use their medifresh 3-in-1 cos it has some elasticity so when theres earth movements, paint moves with it so wont hv cracks so easily.. but we like matt finish so wont use tt... but ur place looking good so far...
