I don't hold bankbooks and don't queue at banks, unless no choice. Bankbooks to me is useless, I access online, can always download transaction history. For those timed fixed deposits, just read the figures onlines and keep track the maturity dates. Same for insurances, very complicated. Agents quits, new one take ove, tel changes, address change... I don't keep the covers. I keyed all essential data into computer and make one file, just update accordingly, at one glance. Same for equities stocks, make a spreadsheet, keyed in all data manually to keep track. All files got passwords, writen down on a book, she knows, in case one day I suddenly call home by the Lord.

Answers: 1. Refer to CURRENT properties( ie, those sold not included) , and these properties have been served by CPF OA. 2. Minimum sum applies to current's "2nd and more" - can use ONLY 50% of the remaining, after setting aside "minimum sum" in OA & SA. Say Minimum sum now at $112K, OA=100K, SA=100K, the remaining in OA = (100K+100K)-112K = 88K, can use only 50% of 88K, which is 44K to pay the loan for the "2nd and/or more" properties. Spouse also can contribute another 50%.....basically it work like that, still got some conditions.....really make me blurr blurr 3. RPS applies to the 1st property, if I'm not mistaken, again blurr blurr. The 150%VL, 120%VL, 100%VL is another issue, making all cpf holders blurr blurr. Why like that? -

Marbles are compressed undersea minerals over long time. Loss its shine over time, look fade & dull over time. Granite needs to saturate the porous content by mopping floor over ~ 6 months. For kitchen, best to choose darker colour granite.... All natural stones contain minerals, subject to acidic liquid attack. Granites got little "diamonds", seen only close distance, with light. -

Typical contractors. If, I were you & if at first they apologised and willing to compensate and thereafter suggesting change of whole tiolet wall tile, I would be very delighted to accept the apology and as well buying their suggestion. By shifting the attention and blame the innocent is completely an irresponsible act, buying their suggestion is agreeing to their plot. I will insist all the way asking them to replace the 2 damage tiles and make good to the wall, no matter how hard they could find such tiles. May be after that, ask another contractor to re-do the whole wall tiles. They should have put some kind of water-proof sealant at L edge, to prevent/minimise water from entering. Same for the pipe's surrounding, need swater-proof sealant.

Mine from Lorenzo, 4yr+, full cowhide, tok kong, swee, swee. No kids jumping on top. Leather "afraids" of sudden stretch and contract, ie, jumping on top will make it "crack easily".

DIY shops. Need some skills to apply, better buy some extra. Clean glass, spray water, use flat rules (best different sizes, for bigger area & corners), one clean dry cloth, sharp pen knife, wash hands, be patient, take long inhale and go.....

Is It Common Practice To Polish Floor Before Carpentry & Painting?

What kind of "polishing" all of you are refering to? Last time (how long ago?) did not have "finished" surface stones, so was really "polish" with different grades of stone with a lot of water. Now is called "mopping", no more polishing lah,therefore before or after capentry, make no real different, except for "wooden floor" need some treatments. After laying parquet (also finished surface already), fill in powder onto gaps, experienced contractors will put flood light to spot the floor & dry the room to see if parquet (square or stripe) bend & cause uneven, if everything ok, apply varnish (hot, day time) (empty room). Can varnish one more time if go minor scratches after capentry in. Basically, no chairs in paequet room, or stuff with moving parts touching the floor. Personal experience: Must really take care those "wooden" floor, gaps get widen after some time, whether teak, naytoh.... -
The loan amount thought was "interest free" as told by my MIL then, but to me, the interest was "figureless" - could be any number. She might call home by the Lord anytime & needed the amount. I could imagine the worst case situation when all eyes stared & fingures pointed at us. The wedding & new home came at together at "wrong" timing - What to do? I think most singapore young couples, now still facing this problem, especially whose parents are "not-rich".

Rat, you seem rather familiar to all kinds of SALEs. Back to floorplan, Mac, still can remember the number of tiles on floor & size of each tile? During housing viewing, I read the number of tiles on floor to estimate the area!Especially the kitchen. Gentle reminder: Great sale usually comes with "immediate delivery" to clear warehouse cost. Not worth to "save" that amount, may eventually need to "spend" $$ on another set. Slow slow lah-frontline soldiers very familaiar this rule, so many uncertainties ahead, what's the hurry, want to die ah?

Finally you have waken up, congrat ! Good intention has no good return, right? Especially young couples nowsday, they compare, compare & compare. Like to "have suppliers/contractor on", ended no deal.

Now's society/family financial structure is far more complicated that whether each know their respective incomes and income sources. - Knowing each's and sharing is one of the mains key to a "sucessful" family. Must always respect each others. I tell you my story: - She knows my everythings: all the ID, passwords to on-line bank accounts (written on book), holding all the bankbooks, insurance printouts, supplementary cards, passport, stock scripts, pay slips, property title deed..... - I know her singpass, salary (roughly), insurances, nominee........ I allow her to her own "secret money"- on & off she told me the amount, but I don't quite bother. She takes charge of monthly household expenses, children's expenses..... - She keeps my cheque book, she writes amount, I just provide signature. She has her own cheque bk. - I transfer money online to/from a joint account to stocking firm. She keeps the book. I read the figures on-line. - I access almost everythings on line, including insurance. She prefer Giro while I prefer cheque & online transaction. - I deal with ID/contractors, she writes cheque I sign. - I make spreadsheet calculation on house mortgage loan and make decision, she follows. - I make spreadsheet calculation on details of selling/buying properties, she follow. She has total discretion on almost all transactions, except buying/selling car, house, stocks, loan. Anyway, I inform her of what I bought/sold.

- So far haven't seen such equipment in the market, with 2 different heat-production methods, to be "cum" together within one body. - Microwave's heat produced by "vibrating" the H2O particles within "ready food". most for "warming up" purpose. No metal container/plate. Microwave oven's walls built with heavy metal, except for front door with some "mesh" built in between, to minimise waves from radiating out to the container. - Convection Oven is by heating filaments at sides/top/bottom, with temp/timer controls. Some even with built in fans to blow the within temperature to be more even.... My advise is: practise make perfect.

Pardon for side track a bit: I hardly made official complaints but some "feedback", unlike my wife, likes to "feedback" as well as compliant, and always I have to come in between to settle "dificulties" when she faces in such. When deciding if to make an complaint, I always ask myself: - what this decision will land to be a win-win, win-loss, loss-loss situation? - for the sake of "face", integerity, dignity, money? - Time taken to collect facts, call here & there. - Worth to make? - What extend of "damage/compensation" I expect the opponent to receive/give and I deem fit. Up to now, most of my "feedback" were to gov/statu bodies & some pte firms. Always short, sharp & sexy types. Official complaints with letter/reports/pictures: 1. MC of baywater condo, ended up paid $ to NEA to purchase weather report, sit in monthly meeting, chairman on behalf of MC apologised to my wife. Win-loss. 2. A furniture shop in beach road, ended up I paid "extra" $100, to have the product being hand-carried and delivered to 23 floor. Loss-loss.

To stress again, important thing is to have reno permit applied & get approved. The one who does the job, whether is HDB-registered or not, is out of the question here.

Wow lau, WD40 is too expensive to use on such application, use Kerozine(spell correct?) can already. Apply on cloth first, then apply onto the stickers to make them "wet", wait for about 5 min, scrap able the sticker easily. Apply K..again on cloth and use it to clean those "sticky marks" ....ok?

You mean you've received the service firm's lawyer letter, demanding to respond within 14 days, to pay certain amount (calculation factors included?) for defamention for a "comment" in the ST701?. From those words, you were merely stating part of a fact. Anyway, they did sms you about the "prepayment" condition, should not have use the word "NEVER". Why bother about such a thing? Complaining is like shooting, make sure by one trigger the target is down. Down to what extend? One arm, one leg, one eye, ....? There are skills and techniques in complaining: don't take a machine-gun anyhow trigger. If you don't know to what extent your complaint will effect, don't complain. Once complained, MUST hit target to the extend you want.

Toilet Wall Tile Grout Change Color

To be practical, choose tiles at tiolets & Kitchen that match grout lines with BLACK color. Don't use clear or white silicon in tiolet, over time, silicon will turn into "black". White grout lines at these places initially look bright & nice. After sometime......now you're experiencing...haha. I learnt this lesson many years ago lah. -
