It's granite, 600mm x 600mm, cost price $21/per pc. I like those "little diamonds" on floor, visible only at night, light on, eye close to floor ~ 1feet, at abt 30 deg. -

FE "bad reputation"- like to "eat" ppl, CDL - gentleman, grand, spacous, Allgreen - like birds & water-balls features, UOL- fine, Wingtai - so so, NTUC CH- worst. Ho Bee -between FE & CDL. The rests - no really paying attention. -
- The incoming breaker is not MCCB (moulded casing circuit breaker), MCCB has "thermal trip" & "magnetic trip" fuctions, can put a shunt to trip it externally. MCCB is much more expensive than MCB. - The incoming is a "normal" ELCB with "earth leakage current trip coil" - HDB usually is 20mA, Hospital's ICU equipment with 5mA.... - Better use 4mm sq for heater. Use the 20A mcb. - 10A mcbs for lightings, fans -20A mcbs for aircon (individual), heater (individual) - Use 15A rating 3-pin (round) socket & plug for aircon & heater. Normal 13A power socket cannot last for long with 15A(aircon) & 16A(heater). - 20Amcbs for 13A-3 pin power socket.... In 1992, I drilled & installed lighting myself & did some modifications to lighting looping & power points looping. Now not "motivated" already. Those ceiling trunkings... need skills, good luck. I plastered the whole house in 1992 & sanded them. The hammer drill & electric sanding tools still in my store. Try using Legrand switch-very nice.

I've been in power electronic line for 17 years. Every working days, see cables. I see those 120mmsq cable "jump" when inrush current passing through. Those cable/power within HDB unit is "nothing" to me. S'pore's building renovation mkt has been "flooded" with many PRs and malaysians, some with experience but no cert/license, especially electricians. My present unit's re-wiring was done by the 2 malaysian brother-team, have co registered in M'sia but not Singapore. ID is held responsible for "any thing wrong", I paid the brothers cash & insist on get a "receipt" with their M'sia co's letter head. They are nice, efficient, workaholic, friendly. ID know them because from same village in M'sia. Their familaies in JB. Before DB ready, aircon team came in. Installed and did commissioning same day. I've reminded the team leader (A malaysian too) the temporary cable (16mm sq) laid from incoming by the 2 brothers has no earth cable, could cause some leakage current(potential difference) at the casing at the compressor unit and be careful. Ended up he get "shocked" by accidentally touching the mounting bracket.

- Not a wise decision to have "heavy duty" electrical appliances at home, unless no choice. No matter how "thick" the cables are or how big the rating of the mcb is. - "Central" storage hot water system/heater requires 3-5kw, but not instant heater ! With modern thyristor-controlled power, a 2000w is very much more than enough. With less than 10 seconds, you can get the required "hot water" to your taste. - 3.6kw water heater is for high water flow rate, hotel, bathbed. - For future expansion, use 10A, no harm. - Better test the 20mA Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker whether in working condition. Cable's insulation material(H05V-K) is sensitive to heat as well as UV light. Many house/shop caught fire because of this constant over-stressed of cable. To tell you more: - I was given a 16-day MC last May, right palm (4 fingers, top portion) badly burnt by instant extreme high heat caused by short circuiting. Exposed to heat less tha 2 seconds, I dared to say. 50mm sq cables caught fire and melted immediately. Wrote a report to MOM. - Almost some 12 years ago, I was "shocked" by 22kv, 60hz in S.Korea, fainted. Sent to hospital immediately. Now, still holding the hospital card as "present".

Water Repellent Coating Vs Waterproofing
bepgof replied to simplez's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Water repellent coating means water still get chance to "attact" the medium after the coating. Waterproofing is 100% no water passage, but look out for those "gaps" & "edges" while applying such. Cement screed with a layer of enamel paint = water repellent, excellent. -
Maintaing Privacy For Corridor Units
bepgof replied to osangga's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Yr suggestion is no difference to those movable aluminium lourve at bottom & clear glass on top invented more than 20 years ago. Refering to "audio" & "visual" privacy? Yet want natural air ventilation? At common corridor? Wait long long ! Don't waste money & time. Sell the house away immediately ! - Window is for air flow & light to enter house. One main big drawbacks about HDB unit is the "Common corridor" unit. Always inviting "third" eye & ear to pee into. Like pretty woman wearing very less cloth yet wanting to walk across streets, can image those "eyes", come to worse may have "hand" come into contact ! -

Laminate Refrigerator
bepgof replied to summerflowers's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Too free to do? Can paste all the sticker leh. Compressor is sensitive after few years of usage. Moving it out for pasting may end you up getting a new one.! -
I believe you are talking about those 1 pole mcb, -Lighting can "loop" = 1 incoming can loop to lighting for kitchen, tiolet, hall, room... - Must have individual for: -- Instant heater -- Aircon -- Built-in oven, depend on electrical size. -- Induction cooker, depend on aize. 2200w can use mormal 13A 3-pin outlet. - Fan can share those "lighting". - Power point usually splited into 3-4 groups: -- Kitchen -- Hall -- rooms Personal advise: better buy heavy fire insurance, water heater "too big"- cables under stress, max 70 deg C, constant under stress break the cable insulation, pvc becomes soft at first then "harden" and "chip off" when voltage "jump over", may catch fire over the cables, if ELCB not function.

Wanted To Sell Private Condo
bepgof replied to chandler's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
Pricing: www.s t r e e t s i n e. com http://www.ura.gov.sg/realEstateWeb/realEs...nController.jpf 1. Procedures: so many available, anyway, must do some filtering yourself: http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/singapore-property-resources 2. Definitely. No "appointments" needed. Be prepared for many viewers. 8-10 wk for completion. 3. Need agent, seller pay commission, buyer needs not. Most agents selling private property would request seller to sign an "exclusive agreement" - the one & only agent representing seller = 2% commission +GST. Prepare for house cleaning, photo taking, advertising....Can PM me for agent who sold my condo last yr. Almost 20~30 viewers from 1/8/09 to 20/9/09. -

- Wow, super "heavy duty" instant water heater, correct 20A. Like runnung a 27,000BTU air con! I guess you'll regret get such a high power heater. My present 2200w, I already found "too big". - HDB incoming, so far, max is 40A. So estate only 32A. -Ceiling fan calculate wrongly, should be 540x (0.8)/230=1.9A, 6A mcb ok

Rental Rates For Edelweiss Park/dahlia Park/ferraria

- Dakota Residence (completing soon) & Waterbank@Dakota (2014)are fantastic ! Good school(Is chong cheng high good?), eatries, next down town, mrt, nice view, high floor (#19). 99LH. Potential resale value/ rental yield as well as capital appreciation. No blockage ! Some more got Geylang river, where to find such almost all-in-one ! FH will be added advantage. - Forget about Telok Kurau area - like "sadine" - even at roof top, "you see me & I see you"- no privacy at all. - Kembangan a bit "outskirt". - Joo Chiat is another Geylang, though MP is trying hard to do the cleaning, too many "small hotels" around no good for own stay. - East Meadows & Casa Merah worth consider, if you don't mind 99LH. Good school & MRT. Casa Merah a bit "clamped". I used to play RC plane at the present's plot. Plane also kena landed into East Meadows's carpark before. - Optima too near mrt, will be quite "noisy". -
Install 5 breakers to each circuitry? You are referring to "switch" or "MCB"? 1. 13A//3, 20A breaker can already. MCB has "thermal trip" function built-in, once it senses excessive heat over the contact, it will trip automatically as safety feature. "Switch" will not trip, it will "burn" until it is open circuit. 2. 15A 3pin, use 20A mcb. 3. Heater got 1000W, 2000W, 2200W....worst case 2500W. 2500/230(pf=1) =10.9. 15A mcb is enough. 4. 10A mcb 5. One ceiling fan is abt 180w, 180x3 = 540w.540/230(0.8) = 3A. 10A mcb is better.

Tv Console Ideas And Pics
bepgof replied to nofear's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Wow, your eye very sharp. Only this wall has the wall paper. ID keep convincing to have this paper (ID received from Japan, FOC). My concern was wall paper collect fine dust easily and when clean with damp cloth, the paper becomes "hairy". The ID "challenge" me, if that happens after 3 years, she will "make good" restoring to original wall at her cost. Wallpaper let ppls think of hotels.... -
See my L-leather, full-heigh leather, has been close to 4 year, no maintenance, on & off clean with damp cloth. Those who has car with fabric seats will know what I'm talking about. Can dismantle into 2 piece, HDB lift can't go in.

Sorry, mistake, 2000/230 =9A, 2.5mmsq can already. Electricians ususally use HO5VK cable, see current carrying capacity table below:
