  1. renovation most of the time incl carpentry and its all custom made. your price seem like ID price, not contractor, which i think its quite normal.
  2. yup yup... 79x... those are the few blocks that are really expensive and since its just 5th year, the cov is really high.
  3. the tiffany blue really sweet.... when i am bored with my red, i think i will change to that as well..... congrats on finishing your reno!
  4. if its those new blocks, 59A/B/C, then its really expensive as its relatively new. Maybe no need to reno if the reno was done like 5-6 years ago. furnishing just bring in the current loh..... and they will be selling current, which might be high COV too?
  5. hahahaha..... the last 10 pages or so are about people asking me for Andrew's number. you need to look at page 30+ to 40+ for the actual info.
  6. yup, hdb quite standard. the pipe is always next to the wall where the rubbish chute is. so its easier for us all to cover it up.
  7. build a false wall using partition board, then either you tile that up like the rest of the wall or you can paint it to the colour that you want. you can look at my kitchen where i do not have top cabinets as well and hidden the pipe inside my partition wall that you will not even realised its there. THis way, its cheaper than using laminate that are same as the rest of the cabinet as laminate is more ex than partition board.
  8. you have such a big EA!!! bigger than any flats that i have heard of. no total costs so i don't know whether its really ex or not. sometimes, its better to look at overall as some contractor/ID charge cheaper on some items, but more ex on some. since its a total amount, then can see clearly whether its ex or not. but better to list down individual items but when compare, better to do overall. hope it helps
  9. there is one i saw sold for $988,888 that is 249sqm! but its still a 3 room hdb!
  10. hhmmm.... i think its near to 900sqf? i know where they are cos they are near to where i stay. same lah, i also don't feel rich at all...... but the way i see people can buy private that cost so much, i really wonder how that can happen.
  11. at kallang/whampoa, there is HDB terrace that is considered as 3 room flat. ground floor is living room and kitchen and upstairs is bedroom. its like living on landed but considered as HDB.
  12. if you do hacking and retiling, the minumum for that would be about 10k (if you manage to find the cheapest contractor). so plus aircon, custom kitchen and wardrobe, re-wiring and painting, to achieve $30k is almost impossible. even with 40k, it would be very very difficult for a 5 room.
  13. mayer sales quite worth it...... i also bought my oven at mayer sales, where outside is selling for $500+ but at mayer sales was $399. i think this mayer sales is only once a year?
  14. when i am free, then can do that lah. been really busy at work recently that i don't really have time to come to renotalk. and my reno was done so long ago that not many are referring to it... so no questions for me to answer at all. might be soon before i become history in renotalk liao.
  15. Yup, i think the highest cost for me was the tiling for the whole house, especially toilets and kitchen was the wall also need some tiles..... All the best!
  16. in my signature, there is "choosing electrician". Just click on it then you will see Ah soon's number
  17. Ya, my purchase with insing really lousy experience. But groupon and gmarket are great.
  18. I think the question is what type of house you renovating? 4 room? 5 room? Condo? EM? Have a smooth reno.
  19. Yup then will Kay poh others Reno like me. Haha.... Then thinking of Reno again whatever that wasn't to your liking anymore. Poison !!
  20. Read your toilet paper again in regards to the aircon dripping. Hehe....
  21. 15litres is the water storage. When you shower, you don't use all from storage cos your tap mixer will mix with cold water. So 15litres can let you shower comfortably for 20-30mins I think.
  22. I know if I shower for 15 mins, a 20litre will be emptied.
