  1. Generally most of the lighting and furniture websites I've come across are based in US and Europe (Germany/Belgium/UK) and I think lighting websites in these countries are generally safe and sell original items because of the strict anti piracy laws in these countries. You can try http://www.nostraforma.com/en/kartell-m-148.html - shipping is a flat EUR99.00 internationally, so makes sense if you purchase a decent amount. Remember to take into account GST payable when the item arrives in Singapore, if you spent more than $400 on the order (including shipping).
  2. If it's Kartell, it quite easily availiable online. You might wanna consider purchasing online. Prices may be better than Lifestory as well.
  3. I gave my next door, upstairs and downstairs neighbours some cakes and personally informed them that my reno is starting... They are all v friendly. As for leaving your phone number, I dunno what is the practice with private housing, but with HDB, there is a notice outside with your ID's number which the neighbours can call if there is an issue. So the person who applies for the permit will need to provide their phone number.
  4. Royal Fanco is not for browsing. Need to know what you are getting, then go there, talk to the boss and ask him. He will then quote you. The more items you get, the cheaper he quote.
  5. Looks like Maplewoods or The Sterling or Casa Esperanza??? But nice... Love your De Dietrich kitchen and your light!
  6. It's really your own comfort level... If you like the darker tile then go for it. Juz like in a wedding, our family members will always hv opinions but it's ultimately your own flat, so you hv the final say. I think the darker tile is nice, the only thing is that I feel it doesn't go too well with the floor tile.
  7. You want to buy all brands of ovens?! I assume you want to look at the models rather than buy them? If you go to Rina electrical, you can see the Brandt and Bosch models. If you go to Best Denki (IMM branch), you can see Electrolux and EF. There are also other shops in IMM such as Hoe Kee, SSC, Mayer, Asia Excel where you can also see all these brands?
  8. What kind of classic wall lamp are you looking for?
  9. Actually do you need the work desk in the MBR? If not, you can also consider having wardrobe in that section, hence allowing for more cupboard space? ALso noted that your master bed faces the master bathroom... I suppose this is recommended by the FSM? Cuz according to fengshui, bed should not face door? Additionally, usually ppl will put the wardrobe close to the bathroom and the bed at the other side. This gives a better flow than the other way round.
  10. I think if you want you can box it up, however HDB stipulates that when you sell the unit, you will have to remove the box up and reinstate to original condition when the HDB officer visits your unit to check for illegal alteration. Not entirely sure of this, it's best if you check with your contractor/ID.
  11. Hello! Can I ask who did your curtains??
  12. The Classic KitchenAid mixer is currently going at $693 at the Mayer showrooms itself. But I think still cheaper if you buy overseas or online.
  13. No leh... my ID didn't charge us more for workmanship. He also absorbed the cost for the panadol tiles which cost like $8 per 30cm by 30cm piece.
  14. Rottenramone came back today and got me this limited edition shirt. Available while Yingluck lasts.
  15. Used to work at Kay Siang Road, and I'll walk from Margaret Drive to Commonwealth MRT in the evenings after work as part of my daily "exercise". I really like the Park Connector behind Dawson and looking at it, I always wonder if I'll ever get a unit there...LOL.
  16. Hahaha, anything caught your eye recently? My bludot items are in the early-Sep shipment... And I am still lemming after Heidi.
  17. Ooh okay... Am v tempted to get the kitchenaid which would be useful when I bake...
  18. Hahah, my mum said that it's not difficult to clean as you can just wipe it, but the frequency of cleaning has to be much higher! But I asked Debbie from 11 Nov to quote this for me anyway! I like the black and white blinds in Defelio's living room though.
  19. Mayer got warehouse sale today meh... That's all you got? No washer, dryer, hood or oven?? Did you see the KitchenAid mixer on sale?
  20. While rottenramone is enjoying himself doing a 2nd round of home shopping in Bangkok, I waited at my house for my items to arrive at my place! I must commend the great service of Henry, the boss from Royal Fanco. He personally delivered all the items to my place and checked through every single item. Poor guy, for he had to bring the really heavy Arino Caprio from 1 level down as my place have not undergone lift upgrading yet. I also met up with Debbie from 11 November curtains. Very jovial and friendly lady who was never short of recommendations for the curtains. Had a great time looking through all the options and chatting with her. I like her service. Waiting for her quotation which she said would get back to me by the end of tomorrow.
  21. Hello! Welcome to the t-blogs! I'm v excited to see your floorplan because it looks exactly like mine, except that I have a larger balcony. I am on the floor right above the lift landing with a big balcony. Where is your unit and what's the floor area? And I think the kitchen never had a wall... it always was an open plan kitchen. Same as my place. As for your question about the island... Our kitchens are definintely big enough for an island. However, it means you will have pretty little storage space. So we were going to go with an island at first, but 1 week into the reno, we decided that it's definitely not enough space for us, so we extended our island into a counter instead. If you head over to my t-blog, you can see a 3D rendering of my kitchen. That was the island, if you ignore the vertical cupboards which we eventually decided to have. As for the island which extends into the dining area, that can be done too and in fact an ID actually came up with such a plan for us. Although I like the idea, however, I felt that it didn't go with the "flow". And I like to have a distinct living and dining area. Hope this helps!
  22. There was an ID who asked me that as well. And I must say rottenramone and myself were impressed!!! BUT... He is not the one we've gone with due to the ridiculously high quote. And his works look pretty but not sure if it will last. Mummymantras... if you recall what I told you about a particular ID firm and their high quotes, just wondering if the ID you mentioned above is from the same ID firm???
  23. Both me and my hubby wear specs, but there is not enough space to put a bedside table in the room!
  24. Hmm... If like that then I think the TV console was look disconnected from the TV panels... like 2 separate unconnected objects... I think it will look better if the ID customise the console for you and cantilever it on the wall...
