  1. Why still need to wait till 15 Feb... really zzZZz! Why cant they refund on the spot? Really hope all victims get fully refunded... Wishing everyone best of luck.
  2. I apologise for my directness. Previously i had this type of problem with furniture company, i claimed back every cent using SCT path. Nowadays to save myself from this type of disappointment and frustration, i dont order furniture from company without a showroom or sell only at fair. Also never ask them to keep for me so i reserve 1st and take delivery few months down the road; the problem is those companies will not help you reserve or keep for you cos your little deposit is not enough to pay for storage space. Maybe only respectable furniture retailers with their own building and warehouse will and can do it; pretty sure those sell at fair sure wont. I buy my furniture only from big and established retailers that has been around in Singapore for a very long time... like Hwa Tat Lee, Lorenzo, Cellini, Melandas, Scanteak, Ikea... Courts and Harvey Norman also can buy but their furniture are usually consignment from manufacturer directly, they offer more consumer protection. If really cannot find the ideal piece, i will then go for custom made.
  3. Lousy PU leather sofa costs more than $2K... speechless! I'm not sure if HTL Manufacturing Pte Ltd is still selling leather sofa at 11 Gul Circle, but they are one of the few leather sofa manufacturers in this region to produce and export leather sofa to US and Europe. Their quality is superb; of cos their price is equal. I previously bought a set of 3+2 seater recliner sofa for a BFF as house warming present at $3.5K, it could easily have been $9k if it was display in Life Storey or Mod Living.
  4. That is a foolish idea... you try kicking a fuss in their booth at the Expo, 1st they can call the police and expo security that you try to disturb their business, you can be arrested. 2nd they can engage a lawyer to sue you. I guaranty you will lan lan suck thumb and maybe pay for damages. If i am running a business and you come disturb, i have the police arrested you and i sure engage a lawyer to sue you further till your pant drop down.
  5. Hi Andy, 1. CASE is a toothless tiger so don't waste your precious time with them. 2. Police cant touch them cos no one is hurt or kill in the process, they will advise you to seek justice (the legal way) yourself. 3. Small Claim Tribunal (SCT) is the only way out for people like you & me. A lot of efforts to put in and a lot of details to be recorded, best accompanied with photographs from all angles showing defect on goods, make your case air tight and strong. DO NOT settle out of court, see them in court and if they are really in the wrong, they have no choice but to refund you every cent and remove their products from your place. If you want to waste time posting your grieve here, i rather you use the time to build file a strong case with SCT. Good luck.
  6. You are so funny, the dimension of the coffee table in your first post is bigger than the coffee table from BoConcept, what you mean by the size does not fit you? BoConcept one too small? The one you posted is make of the same material as the one from BoConcept. Designer piece is usually that price range; maybe you can try IKEA if you are looking for cheaper alternative.
  7. I'm surprise to you people having the patient to wait and wait to get disappointed with them over and over again and again. If i am you, i will take them to Small Claim Tribunals directly and claimed back the full deposit. Set a date and time for them to collect back the furniture or else i start charging them for storage fee. If you need more information about Small Claim Tribunals, you can refer to http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/mdc-cic/page.aspx?pageid=6531 or http://app2.subcourts.gov.sg/sct/index.aspx/
  8. Very nice and spacious layout, hack down the wall between living and kitchen to create a open concept living, dinning cum kitchen with a island worktop.
  9. Nice white modern living concept you have there... For a true minimalist, you should also add a softer alternative to the dull all-white. Your decorative featured wall is a tad bit too fancy to be minimalist. You should choose plain furniture in natural woods and leather or go for bright colors, and ultra-modern chrome, glass and stainless steel. Glossy textures and straight lines are a great look for the minimalist interior. Low level furniture looks less bulky, and so really enhances the minimalist feel in your room. Since your furniture and fittings are fixed... maybe you can play with accessories and go for something funky, striking and unusual, to suit the minimalist style. Your lighting is so plain Jane, L box and false ceiling are so norm and common everywhere, almost every new house i visited in the last 2 years look like yours. You need a modern statement piece for minimalist.
  10. raw cement stained by cooking oil, you will cry. if you scrub the oil portion, when dry the tone at that area might not match with other area, you will cry again. unless you lacquer the cement.
  11. The 3380 Espresso is part of CaesarStone Classico collection. I am unable to tell you the go direct cost for CaesarStone; as for SilesStone you can approach Builders Shop. If you are getting CaesarStone through your ID, there will sure be mark up, the question here is how much. If you are getting the kitchen cabinet from this ID, best get the CaesarStone through them cos if you go direct and screw up the dimension, i guaranty you will cry like a girl.
  12. What is SDS? I'm using Black & Decker at home, been serving me well for the past 15 years, all my drill bits bought from neighborhood hardware shop.
  13. You should look for a housing agent doing rental service.
  14. Sagging? Where got sag? I'm using it in my bomb shelter. At 1 point i have 40 bottles of the "good stuff" on the bottom tier of 3 racks. Bought the rack back in 2003 and assemble it ourselves. Maybe the QC has change, perhaps the wood become thinner.
  15. use bleach! pour about 200ml around the inside of the bowl, wait 30 minutes, brush it and flush away; then proceed to wash the rim of the bowl and the floor surrounding it.
  16. Nego with budget hotel management for a better monthly rate with housekeeping frequency of once per week or every 3 days; if that is still too high, rent a room or a flat for short term, agent fee applies.
  17. That chemical fume is unhealthy and can hurt your child's eyes and respiratory system... you can try open all windows & doors and put all standing fans in your house into that room to fan away the chemical fume or if can, move the whole bunk bed outdoor to sun it.
  18. I only heard of an Italian soccer player by the name of G.Ferretti. Must be those ah tiong or home grown brand that anyhow use any name that sound expensive. I saw a "Grobe" in China.
  19. I see them no wrong at all. Maybe you and me different upbringing. They have many jobs line-up for them each day. You think they born to serve only you? For this kind of appointment, i will arrive early on site with some cold drinks for these contractors, if i cant find cold drinks near the site, i usually will pass them $5 each for coffee & makan; most if not all the time they will do a nice good job for me. Let ah hia teaches you some proper manners; arrive 30 mins early before appointment time, a few cans of drink or a few bucks can buy you a long way.
  20. SilesStone is anti-bacteria; CaesarStone is not. The price range for both brand is between $150 pfr for standard range and $250 pfr for premium range; this price is estimated go direct price, if you get them through your ID or contractor, sure to have mark up from them.
  21. For kitchen solid top, i suggest quartz surface from CaesarStone or SilesStone. They are expensive, starting from $150 pfr for standard range to $250 pfr for premium range. This is go direct price, if you get them through your ID or contractor, they will sure mark up before quoting you. pfr = per foot run (NOT per square feet (psf))!
  22. To fit the new sink, the whole solid top must be remove and brought back to the factory using machine to re-cut the new size for the hole of new sink. The problem is NO one want to do this kind of service, hacking of solid top will also damage the cabinets below, who want to bear the damage cost? You? Your ID? So if you insist to change the sink, the whole set (solid top + cabinet) has to go. I suggest you spent that few thousands, it's more easy to bear than the constantly nagging/suaning from your wife.
  23. German technology? Assemble in Germany or some developing country? The made in EEC Ariston washer cum dryer my in law gave as a house warming gift 8 years ago is still serving me very well. It has only broken down once during the first year, the technician came over the next day, took the circuit board out and brush it under running water while i watch in horror, then dry it using hair dryer, put it back and the washer is all good. I will be bringing it with me to my new house in March 2012, just need to change a new set of rubber sleeve. Shouldnt cost more than $140 even with prevailing GST rate. EDITED TO ADD: I will be bringing my "Goldstar" 2 doors fridge to my new house too. Goldstar is the old brand name for "LG"; you should know how old is that fridge. My 8 years old Sony 32" LCD TV simply refuse to die on me, guess that also will join me in my new house.
