  1. Thanks for the info. Yah, the Robinsons one is 1L.
  2. Pai seh, I remember wrongly... That one I saw is this brand http://web.iona.com.sg/product.php?ca=1 . But I think your is nicer, more retro! Going on trip? If so, have a good trip! Shall wait for more reno updates from you when u back
  3. Saw the red version at Robinsons, very sexy Just to check, since you order from Amazon UK, the plug and voltage are suitable for Singapore, right?
  4. Ya, I've heard of stories whereby some stuff not reflected in floor plan suddenly "appear" during reno. Will plan accordingly. Will wait till reno quotations come in first then decide about furniture. We prefer to spend the money on essentials like flooring, kitchen overhaul, combine current study with MBR etc. If reno cost too much, we don't mind getting a cheap sofa for the time being and invest in a good sofa at a later stage. Btw, the ikea sofa above is out of my shortlist, its comfort level is not up to my expectation. Our unit is around 7 years old. Plan to change kitchen sink and hood, but not sure if I should change hob as well. What do you guys think? If we build new kitchen counter and cabinets, is it possible to remove the hob and re-install it?
  5. Yah, that's sorta what I have in mind! But I don't intend to make it a total open wardrobe, cos scared of dust and that room has floor to ceiling window.
  6. Yah, I think for vintage stuff, either you love it or hate it Try to convince your hubby lah, say this kind of lamp is hard to come by! If now don't buy, next time hard to find something exactly the same! Which is the turquoise one? Cannot tell from the photos leh. I like retro lamps in bright colours! I think red and turquoise are both nice, depends on your preference and if you need to match with your computer table and surrounding's colours. What colour is your computer and table? Btw, where did you see find these lamps?
  7. I'm not familiar with floorplan... Thanks, now I know fat hollow walls are structural beams. Looks Like have to create a 'doorway' from mbr into wardrobe area (current study room).
  8. Yes, you are right! Thanks for pointing this out
  9. Haven't confirm contractor yet, meeting the first contractor end of this month The first tv console (with the metal legs) is from CB2, they are opening in Singapore in Dec, but I'm not sure if they will carry this model. Shortlist first! lol 2nd, 3rd and 5th are from Mountain Teak. 4th one with pencil legs is from Room of Woods . I haven't seen the real thing at this moment, all based on online research Hopefully can go view them soon. Will update here again!
  10. These lamps are so cute! Are they vintage? Where u intend to place them?
  11. Hi Bigbull, that retro-ish looking fan you bought is **** cool! Is it wind strong? Did you happen to see bigger version there? Thanks in advance!
  12. Finally got someone reply Hmm, I thought usually black thick lines mean cannot hack? Anyway, hope can combine the study and mbr somehow... Will ask contractor to check. Any idea if kitchen sink's position can be shifted? don't like the current position, makes the working triangle quite big...
  13. I like these, so cute! How much are they? If you don't mind, can PM me your entire reno quotation? Thanks!
  14. Hi Jerome, can you kindly send me price list of Fujioh hood and Rinnai hob? Am considering these two brands. Is it true that it's not advisable to use glass top hob if there's built in oven below it?
  15. Have subscribed to your informative t-blog. Looking forward to more updates! Btw, can PM me the contacts to buy sinks/tap etc? And also that of your ID. Thanks in advance.
  16. Coffee table will be something simple, probably a teak rectangle with pencil legs. Not too sure about our TV console though. Should we go for something more industrial looking (wood+steel).... ...or more mid century modern looking (pencil or tapered legs I love )?
  17. For our living room, we plan to have a off-white brick wall behind the sofa. Current flooring is compressed marble which I feel doesn't fit into our theme, so might be changing to homogenous tiles with wood-like pattern, similar to what Pinkwhale has. This will extend along the passageway leading into the rooms. As our rooms already come with timber flooring (dark brown tone), should we match a similar colour for tiles in living room and kitchen? Or should we use lighter brown tiles, so that living room will look brighter overall? Any advice? As we have limited budget, may be getting a cheap ikea sofa first, then hopefully buy a better piece when we have more cash. Should we get this: or ?
  18. The theme I have in mind is something industrial/lofty, with elements of brick wall, rugged looking lamps, track lights etc. As I love mid century mod furniture, particularly the sexy pencil legs, hope to incorporate this as well. Hope to also add in some vintage touch here and there. Enough talking, shall post some photos which inspired me. Some photos may look familiar as I got them from dear fellow forumers, but rest assured that I won't be 'eating' up your bandwidth. I took the liberty to upload them to my own album Above two pic from theitsybit's t-blog Above pic from paloma's t-blog
  19. I've been surfing RenoTalk since we began searching for our ideal home. Really inspired by some of the wonderful projects here. We managed to find a unit we like within a short time and decided to get it almost on the spot! Will be getting keys in late Feb next year. And I've been researching here almost everyday. I know I am kiasu, but will be meeting a contractor end of this month, and hopefully can get a few quotations from other contractors as well. I have learned a lot from fellow forumers here. It's particularly beneficial for first-time home owner like myself to follow through t-blogs. Thus I hope to be able to share our renovation journey here too. Would also appreciate advice and suggestions from experienced forumers here. Thanks in advance! This is the floorplan we got. Unfortunately it doesn't come with any measurements. I suspect it's not drawn to scale also. Played around with Floorplanner and got this. As the mbr is rather small, I hope to hack the wall between study and mbr, and convert the former study space to house our wardrobes. Also hope to hack the kitchen wall near entrance so as to enlarge the kitchen space and hopefully to bring more light in. To be honest, I'm not sure if these walls are hackable, but will ask contractor to check when we visit end of this month
  20. Hi, possible to PM me Alan's contact? Thanks in advance!
  21. Hi, possible to PM me contacts of Alan from Aian, carpenter Ah Tong and contractor Ah Huat? Thanks so much!
  22. Like the Mountain Teak bed! Have you confirmed your ID/contractor? Possible to PM me contacts of the two contractors whom you spoke to? Thanks.
  23. I see. So his quote is that of ID? If you don't mind, possible to PM me his quote for you, just for reference? Thanks.
