  1. Wa, you so fast bought all your electrical appliances liao! So did u bought smeg fridge?
  2. Thanks ongcs & dragonnite for sharing. Actually my network is done already (fibre and LAN), just pending Starhub's installation of modem cum router (i believe it's 2-in-1 model). My house is still under reno so can't really test now. Back to your suggestions, I'm still not very sure what to do, so please pardon my somewhat ignorant questions. Does router need to be connected to modem? Cos thinking of putting router in study, one RJ45 port will connect to my laptop wired, and can switch on router's wifi to use in study and mbr, right? However, if router needs to be connected to modem here, then I dunno what to do liao My opennet point and starhub router/modem are right beside my main door, so it is some distance away from living room, plus they are cordoned off by a door, so I'd prefer not to use the starhub router for wifi in living room. Since i have a LAN point in living room, what device do you guys suggest I use if I only want wifi in living room (that is no need wired access)? My network contractor says I can use this device called wireless access point (IIRC)... Should I use this or router?
  3. Any good food around Tampoi vicinity?
  4. Hi ongcs, can I seek your advice on home network too? My Opennet point and modem/router will be installed in db box area which is near my main door. Got a network contractor to set up LAN with a RJ45 point each in living room and study. I intend to use wireless only in living room. And for study, I hope to have both wired (connected to my laptop) and wireless (hope to use in mbr opposite). What device do you suggest I buy to set up the wireless? Is it a device known as Wireless access point? Thanks in advance!
  5. Eh, i didn't know frosted film may shrink I bought some from TB to cover bottom half of my full height window, as my study table in front of the windows, don't want ppl to see my legs
  6. I think you have to check with seller if they ship to areas in China outside where they are located. I think i've seen somewhere in TB whereby sellers not willing to ship mirrors.
  7. I blur blur didn't know that May doesn't repack / inspect, otherwise I would have tell all sellers to pack well. Sigh I only told a few of them whom I ordered fragile stuff from. *fingers crossed* My previous batch of lamps I ordered via Daigou came very well packed and those are original sellers' packaging.
  8. Does anyone have Hettich contact? They moved from Jurong to Ubi, and I can't find their contact number online. Tried emailing them but haven't hear from them for very long. I'm hoping to visit their showroom and will like to know their showroom's operating hours.
  9. Amcon is helping me ship stuff to Singapore. Just wanna share, actually they don't help to inspect the products, be it quality or colour. Am surprised to hear this cos I always have the impression that they do, or perhaps I remembered wrongly.
  10. Ya, most probably go without handles. I don't dare to buy any kitchen appliances for now as I would want to match with my future kitchen colours as much as possible! Luckily the eggplant colour Staub pot and WMF pan I bought some time ago can match... Didn't have that much colour coordination problems in day to day life, even in clothes matching
  11. Nice DIY! I bought a similar lamp from TB, gonna install in the yard. Where did u get this from?
  12. May I know where did you get this tissue box from?
  13. Not to forget my white 3D subway tiles! Alan will definitely at my laminate selection. LOL!
  14. The hammock spring is so funny! Er, is it meant for your future baby? Kerosene lamp is good as a decor piece! Or you can ask Mr E to convert it into pendant light?
  15. But not burnt orange... Will a loud orange like this be 不耐看 in the long run? My bottom cabinet sides and frame are white tofu tiles. Only top cabinet, one full height shelf/cabinet and another full height cabinet require side laminate, for which I'd probably choose same colour as the door laminate. Not sure about handles at this point of time... Will have to see the handle designs carpenter offers. Otherwise I may do without a handle also.
  16. Bear in mind different brands' bulbs colour temperature (that 'k') differs slightly too, at least that's what I heard. I like cool white but the problem is cool white bulbs are not readily available at supermarket, hardware stores and even homefix diy, but only available at light shops. So next time if *touch wood* light bulb spoil, have to go all the way to light shop to buy.
  17. Very fulfilling day! Went Crestar and 3 laminate factories all in one morning! Then headed to Philips warehouse sales and Mayer one in the afternoon. Resisted buying Kitchenaid cos I still prefer mint green which is not available at the warehouse sale. My loots for today - 3 ceiling fans, 1 iron and 1 rice cooker! We haven't met the carpenter yet but I thought it might be better to choose my preferred laminate first as some may affect my design of the cabinets. Took many laminate samples! Now headache over my kitchen laminate selection... They don't have burnt orange so considering glossy orange. Should we go for two different orange tones - darker one on bottom cabinet and lighter one on top cabinet? Something like this:
  18. How about cool white? It's in between warm white and daylight, so there's a bit of yellow tinge to the white.
  19. My kitchentop is L-shape, so there will definitely be a grout line. Not worried about stains and all... in fact, the only thing i am concerned about is scratches. but since mine is white, i hope scratches won't be that obvious? If I rem correctly, you can also choose to polish your solid surface a few years down the road if you think the scratches are unbearable.
  20. Thanks ment0s! I'm looking for a burnt orange laminate but i think it's a tad hard to find.. may consider yellow instead. Anyone who happens to spot burnt orange laminate please let me know! Thanks!! edit: I think this SNS may have what I'm looking for...hmmm...but must see the real sample piece.
  21. I am also using white. I think for white, basically there are two materials to choose from, solid surface and quartz. I didn't like quartz cos there will be an obvious "grout" line, so it came down to just solid surface for me. There are various price points for solid surface, I suppose different price = different quality? I chose Samsung brand solid surface, price is in between normal solid surface and quartz. Erm.... but don't ask me how much cos I don't remember
