  1. Can someone confirm what is the exact address of Door Plus? I was told it is 118 Changi Road, but someone here mentioned 338 Changi Road? Which brand is recommended for Biometric locks? I prefer something with softer tones and not loud and sharp. I went down to the IMM shop yesterday. Sales lady only recommended the Samsung one, which I don't like. I prefer the looks of Gateman and Mykey. I was also recommended Virdi by thegadgethome. Any comments on these brands? Toying with the idea of installing this gadget since using the Gateman one at my parent's new home.
  2. I did mine with Jimmy Textiles. My hubby was recommended by his friend to go to Joo Chiat complex, and we chance upon his shop. We were attended to by Jimmy himself, who is a very pleasant man. Very good salesman and not the calculative type. What I like is he could give me a quote straightaway, unlike some other salesmen who cannot give precise quotes.
  3. There're people selling their Ivory units? When I was checking it out in 2006, already no one was selling since there were rumours of the enbloc. In 2004/2005, one unit only costs $400K! Pity I wasn't looking at buying houses then. Back to 2005, can't say it was a bad time to buy property. Prices were still low. My parents bought their district 9 condo unit back then. In 2007 property boom, they could've sold it for double..
  4. No no, overall, I'm not disappointed with my purchase, quite pleased actually with its looks and solid feel. I was just quite disappointed with certains aspects of it, especially after reading about the simplehuman ones with soft close. I'm even thinking of getting my second bin if all goes well with the first. Perhpas I didn't adjust it properly, although I did try, the plastic wrapper still sticks out. !!
  5. I got a Brabantia bin before reading the comments properly in this forum. I was quite disappointed that it doesn't have the soft close feature, and closes quite heavily! I couldn't hide the plastic wrapper well either, can still see it sticking out. Overall still a nice solid bin, but will defintely check out the Simple human bin for comparison.
  6. If it's tempered glass, it cannot be cut. If you attempt to cut it, it'll shatter into a zillion peices. If it's ordinary glass, there're alot out there who can do it.
  7. My undersanding is, parquet means short strip timber laid in a pattern. The longer stripes would be called timber flooring. IIRC, it is $5-$7 psf for Burmese teakwood parquet. Indo parquet is about $5. The longer timber strips would be $10 and above. I went to both Jason Parquet and Wood Doctor. Wood Doctor gave a packaged price, quite expensive. We were attended by Mr New from Jason Parquet, very nice chap who gave us a special price for the Brazilian teakwood. Told us he was clearing stock, I guess we got lucky, asked him the right question at the right time. Just a tip here: Calculate the floor area yourself using your floor plan. VERY OFTEN, and I mean VERY OFTEN, the usual practice is to inflate your floor area so that they can charge more....
  8. Is it possible to relocate the toliet WC 10cm to the right? Will that involve any major works, and roughly how much would that cost? Tks!
  9. For Kuishinbo, I didn't really enjoy their buffet as I find the sashimi not that fresh. But the snow crab with vinegar is yummy. I still think of it sometimes, wish to go back and eat the snow crabs with vinegar! My sis thinks the snow crabs are probably leftovers by the top Jap restaurants that are bought cheaply by Kuishinbo, that's why it's not that fresh either. Not that I mind, since I've never eaten the really fresh ones before. Ignorance is bliss!
  10. Her Pic. Wants to shame SATA, end up shaming herself. Tsk tsk.
  11. I didn't read the previous articles about it. Only read this one. Anyone got previous articles, can post here? Any pictures of her in her bikini? *me kaypoh*
  12. I'm happy with mine, more than I expected.
  13. Haha, what does she expect? Just started work and absent more than half the time, and expect the company to accept her behaviour? It's better to just leave graciously in this case.
  14. I also agree Sim Siang Choon service is very bad in the outlets I visited. Still I bought both my toliet roll holders from them since I couldn't find nicer ones elsewhere. But as for the glass basin, theirs is really expensive, and considering their poor service, I would certainty take my money elsewhere.
  15. If that ghoul is gonna appear again at my doorstep, I'm gonna call the police. It's harassment. If she's so unhappy being my lower floor neighbour, jolly well complain to HDB about the "noises" she has been hearing. She accuses me of having heavy footsteps, amongst other complaints. How is someone who's 40kg have heavy footsteps? If I stamp on the floor, my feet hurt! The last time I was already very pleasant, listening patiently for herself and her dad to finish their ranting. Because of this, she must be thinking whenever she can find something to be unhappy, she can come up to rant at me to her satisfation. Well, she's wrong. IF she comes up again, SHE will be the one getting a scolding, plus she'll have to face the police.
  16. $4000 for 18 ft of sliding wardrobes with those selling points sounds cheap to me. I think Ikea would be much more expensive.
  17. I got mine that time already quite expensive. This time, even more so, I can feel the heartpain of the new owners. But I'm not complaining lah, already feel very very fortunate. !! I think they will too. Never expect this round to have so much more choices in units. Lucky them!
  18. Other than those Fengshui shops around Fu Lu Shou Building area, and some scattered photo framing shops, where else sells this painting? I still cannot find one in the size I want.
  19. Please list down the places that have lots of watch/clock shops in one location.
  20. I thought I bought one big bag for only $12 of large black pebbles. At the Clementi Road nursery (near Ngee Ann Poly) They also have small black ones, and other colours.
  21. I've never seen the millipedes disappear. ALWAYS see them around Must get the TC to fumigate the place, then this problem will disappear. At least I've learnt a lesson about China workers, AVOID if possible!! Last time I still dare to take China-owned airlines, if I've a choice now, wouldn't take for nuts!
  22. My contractor uses this subcontractor who has China workers. Really quite crappy1 From my 1st hand experience, everything on the surface can look good, but look harder, can see the sloppy work. Eg. They do up the veneer surface of my architrave, but for top part unseen if I never climb up the ladder to check, they conveniently "forgot" to paste the veneer. Luckily I checked. Then because of that, I decided to check the laminates they did for my bay window platform. True enough, the bottom part, unseen if I didn't bend down to check, the laminate work was quite crappy. Now have to specially ask them down to do the touch up.
