Nice idea! I briefly considered getting a pantry, but it was more practical to have normal kitchen cabinets. So no pantry for me. Look forward to seeing yours.

Hi Tarzanboy, my toilet tiles are ceramic tiles from Hafary. Code is YC63375. $2.60 psf. These tiles are very smooth so they are easy to clean and maintain. Mr Yeak's brother is my carpenter. Mr Yeak and his brother have a carpentry workshop in Malaysia. They fabricate all the carpentry pieces there, and then transported into Singapore. Jay designed the house. Mr Yeak implemented the design. Jay doesn't really supervise Mr Yeak. Rather, they worked together.

Congrats for completing your Reno journey! And for having a generally smooth sailing Reno.

During my Reno, I had asked my contractor how tiles are laid. He explained that he will soak each tile in water overnight so that the tile will expand to its maximum before laying them. This takes time. However, he would be able to remove the tile piece by piece, if there is a need for replacing 1 or 2 pieces. A faster method would be to soak the tiles in chemical and then lay them. But the tiles cannot be removed piece by piece later. So perhaps this could explain why your contractor can't remove 1 piece of tile for you, while other people like Ocean11 could have their 1 piece of tile replaced.

Hi, I love my kitchen too! It is very functional. And yes, I love the island too. Having a powerpoint on the island allows me to have steamboat conveniently at the adjacent dining table Price-wise, an ikea kitchen will cost about the same as one done by the contractor. Ikea's design and soft closings are better than a Contractor's, while the wood used by contractors are better than Ikea's.

Nice lights. I would prefer something smaller though.

Hi, can I get your electrician's contact? My Reno is over, but I might need an electrician on an ad hoc basis in future. Thanks in advance. -

Hi Ocean, Your Reno is looking good. So much storage! Just wondering - did you cater space for a sub-woofer in your TV console?
