  1. Hi My electrician just repaired an electrical fault which existed for quite some time. He was very patient in troubleshooting (he was one of the electrical team that wired my place a number of years ago). Seems to know his stuff, coupled with gadgets. Don't think he's the cheapest, local guy. But he managed to troubleshoot a problem that basic electrician may not be able to solve. If u like to contact him, pm me.
  2. Just saw this post... been awhile since I last posted. Yah.. he did my place in 2014. Happy with his work. Eventually one of my buddies and another Renotalk forummer went with him as well after my sharing. My friend was also satisfied with his service. Both of us are very discerning customers and he was able to meet our needs. Good man. PM me if you want to know more.
  3. If I rememb er correctly then, he will give you a hdb form to sign. Most important is the start date. No fees involved (can't remember contractor asking us to fork out... If there is he should fork it out as part of overall package)
  4. Looking one for myself too! Have one name already (coutesy of my contractor). Will call to enquire.
  5. My gas heater is located almost next to our showers.. so its almost instantaneous.. can't beat storage tank though. But in terms of cost savings of electrical bill, it is better I believe. My rain shower still works.. wish it can be more powerful.
  6. I have back problems.. got a couple of chairs until I got myself a HM Aeron chair. No regrets... Can sit for hours and sleep on it too
  7. If want white or some specific colour, then go for quartz. For durability and autentic feeling, go granite is the best choice. Fyi, i'm using quartz.
  8. My house has both... glass more elegant looking but shower space is fixed/restrictive.. curtain is cheaper and more practical.
  9. For sink, can try Franke or elkay.. Not sure whether 316? For accessories, go try chicken brand...welmi, I think? Served me well after many years in my wet shower.
  10. Just chanced coming back to this discussion. Winmei.. U bought the sink yet? I eventually found a solution.. Kinda of
  11. Same here. No change at all. Almost all my taps are fitted with these adaptors.
  12. Hi.. There was a thread discussing about this issue before. Here's the link: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/59385-usa-kitchen-faucet-thread-size-not-correctly/?hl=%2Bfaucet+%2Bsize I got mine in AMK. However, recently I saw some adapters at Nat Cool; But not sure whether these were the correct fit. Fyi.
  13. You can surf Blum's sg website for Blum-certified installers. Definitely one up than the rest. Whether better, you gotta see for yourself.
  14. Vincent also did my kitchen cabinetry for me. You can read my comments about his good work in my other posts. FYI.
  15. Hi to those who explicitly requested from me to pass you my contractors' numbers, I believed I've replied to all of you. As a request to other bros/sis who wish to enquire more info from me, pls PM me as I do not check this thread often anymore. Thank you for your understanding.
  16. No probs if u buy from Amazon. A number of my taps were from there. Except the need to buy a special screw head,
  17. Hi Hazeline, Can PM me your mover contacts? TIA. PS: Think your mailbox is full

  19. Hi For those out there considering the contractors route (like me once), I can recommend my contractor to you. I just completed (almost) my reno with him, He is indeed a nice guy... fair, honest and reliable. He was an ID once, but then switched to doing reno. So can get design ideas from him w/o additional charge Never had much issues with his workers' quality of work. He is experienced and gives pretty good advice. Be warn though, he is not the cheapest neither is he the most ex. His workers are also indeed experienced with one of them even having a reno project in a house at Sentosa Cove! Hence the cost, maybe. Having said that, I know he does a number of BTO reno projects so I guess his costs are not that prohibitive. I also engaged a carpenter to do my kitchen. He's a pro with his own workshop and men. Though initially I thought he would cost a lot more than my existing contractor (after viewing his pro showroom), his came in at a slightly cheaper rate. Hence he was engaged to do my carpentry work. Loved his fully rendered drawings as well. Even though there were mistakes made, he accepted the responsibilities and made good of everything. He does house reno as well after talking to him. His clients are mainly landed properties type from the various computer illustrations which he showed me. Need to chat with him to find out more. Even though my main con did not get do earn from carpentry, he was professional even to give me advice on what to do which we were appreciative of. He made sure his work complements the work of the carpenter. As both parties were experienced, the whole reno went rather smoothly (Of course it is best to do everything with one contractor). Moreover, my kitchen counter top and doors went to other vendors! Despite of these, my main con still served me well. Of course, there were other things we did which was not the main contracting norm, he still decided to take up my house reno. It was an interesting journey for both parties. We never had any problems as described by other forummers i.e. bad workmanship, MIA contractors, money issues etc. In fact, I chase to pay them sometimes because they never seem to ask for money for the work done! Even though there were blemishes in their work, both of them will make good effort to correct all mistakes to the best of their abilities which we appreciate. Seriously, I don't mind engaging either of them again. But you pay what you get I suppose. Do pm me if you wish to know more. Cheers
  20. Hi Jason If you are interested, you can pm me for my contractor's contact. He almost completed my place and know he's doing other BTO projects too. Not the cheapest but does quality work. Very responsive and patient.
