On the contrary, should you have a back problem, you ought to be looking for a softer mattress

it should be giving you more relief on your strained back. ;)

I got backache problems, so likely to get harder mattress too. LOL...

thinking of getting Sealy's Posturepedic mattresses...

but i thought nowadays, even if mattress is hard kind, on top of the mattress, got a layer of the mattress comforter or so, can "soften" the hardness of the mattress.

LOL... maybe it defeats the purpose of getting a hard mattress, though. :P

Greetings one and all,

it has been some 2 months since I last posted;

it was the time where I moved from Renovation project to Wedding Project and subsequently Honeymoon project.

it took a toil off me (somehow I find renovation much easier LoL)

All projects has since completed and I've been residing at my current nest for about a month. :P

I'm happy that this T-blog is still serving it's purpose for ppl seeking for renvation, as I still recieve contractor-hunters asking

for various contractor's contact. I apologise that I didn't manage to revert to everyone at that juncture.

Hihi Yuene,

it will take some effort to lift up the hydraulic, my ex-gf, I mean my wifey usually leaves this to me. ;)

BTW dexufto, just to ask, are those beds with hydraulic storage underneath difficult to lift up?

No worries girls,

As a matter of fact I would like to appreciate you all for introduing the procession and various music for the wedding,

My wifey came across the Piano brothers, found them very appropriate for church weddings :)

hahahaha i sang this song only in uni choir, so not from your sec school i supposed :P found it quite funny cos it's written for a children choir, but we were all over 20 yrs old liao... hahahahaha :lol:

i'm a Sop... did some other Rutter's pieces back in JC choir.. also sang his Magnificat ;)

Oops we're all hijacking dex's thread again :P

Oops sorry dex!!!!!! Okay I'll go hide in my thread...

sorry my bad, I forgotten all about this conversation. Think the wedding prep and honeymoon

prep blew me away. The day before the honeymoon, i was still in 'tripadvisor' booking accomodations.

and in Kyoto (japan) during the honeymoon, we had spent one gd day rebooking cos of toyko aftershock.

LoL. But God is faithfull.

It's still with me, you may collect it anytime, but do give me a buzz an hour before to check that I'm

at home ya?

now almost time for konbawa liao~ :lol:

my flight's schedule to depart on day of quake, it was cancelled.

SIA called subsequently offering alternative flight. we took, we flew. ;)

yup, yup. Japan, very nice place. it's really rich in it's culture.

The disasters also demostrate the resilience of its ppl. respect.

After moving in for more than some 6 months,

it's time for some review;

Some DON'Ts

Given a chance again, these are the things that I would probably avoid

purchasing or using. (One thing I didn't expect is that we.. or rather

my wifey ends up cooking delightful & delicious meals often, would I have

know of my wife's love for culinary, we would have spent a bit more $$ on

kitchen stuffs);

a) Kitchen top

We decided to save money at the point of renovation; so we opt for Arcylic

solid top over granite top. It did it's basic job. However we ended with

many scratches and blurred surfaces when we careless let hot pots be placed

on the solid top surface.

We ended up getting loads of cork-coasters from ikea.

Might have pumped in more money and invested in CaesarStone, though

it might have costs 3 times, but it is said to be bombproof.

b) Dampers/ slow-close

Our contractor provided "Excel" & "Irex" dampers. I can only say it is damm-

disappointing. Despite having replaced the Irex dampers, it broke again.

Do yourself a favour and pay for a better quality piece. Any Blum-user care

to comment?

Irex damper for our dishrack lid.

c) Ikea furnitures

Need I say more? Even forumer Neubie previously posted his 2-cents. Here's mine:

Expedit Top

DSC01037.jpgDSC01036.jpg

The sides of the expedit split open after 3 months.

Nevertheless, the manstand sofa bed is still serving us well.

d) Pots & Pans

WMF certainly look & feel good, however the handle sucks big time. The handle can't

be grasp when it's hot. It should be insulated. Paying big money doesn't justify.

Go for the Cutlery stuffs instead.

during our stay, we got ourselves a study-table in the utility-room.

We wanted something that could fit our books and accomodate laptop/ printer

stuffs as well as a studying area.

Eventually Esther from Closetrobe provided us a solution;

The extended study area.

The extended study table was retracted back.

At the same time, the budget fitted a sliding door that we could use as a storage-room
