Artistic Buddha Acrylic Painting

Recommended Posts

Hi edenstrauss, ransoma!

I'd passed by a shop specialised in framing at clementi the other day n saw a nice Buddha portrait displaying outside. It was golden n brownish n was really nice! However the price given by the female staff (boss or his wife I believed) was a hefty $480!

When I asked for best price, she mentioned '10% discount' with a smile. Still way over for me for a 60x90cm art piece.

Location: clementi central, between uob & kopitiam

Hi Edenstrauss,

Have you got your golden version one?

Can post a picture of it for us to see?

I am also looking around for this kind of painting.

Hi,

U can drop by Yi Mei Yuan on the 2nd floor of Lucky Chinatown to check out on the paintings for the golden version of the buddha painting. Kindly trace back the address as given in this same thread...

They should have plenty of such paintings. The boss is a PRC national who is very well-mannered.

best wishes!

Hi tuasbird,

U r most welcome! :D

Wow your painting looks really magnificient. I reckon that the actual painting when viewed in person is going to be alot more impressive right?

I would think that it's a good buy with great service from Mr Yang.

I don't mean to be so critical about the level of service given by the other china shop running along the main road towards Tanjong Pagar Road. That one was also operated by PRC national owner who has a take it or leave it attitude.

In Mr Yang's case, he is of a different "breed" & class of PRC nationals. He came across as cultured, polite & patient.

I'm thinking about making another trip down to his shop & seeking his permission as to whether he would allow me to take a few photos of his shop front & some of his canvas pieces; and posting them on the RT forum. (Mr Yang wasn't in the shop when I dropped during the previous trip)

Hi edenstrauss!

Oh your right! Viewing this portrait physically... Yes it is nicer n much more magnificent than looking at it from a photo!

Well it's true mr yang is very well-mannered n polite! For me, I would rather forego something i very much sought-after than getting it from a shop owner who can't be bothered with me or showing bad attitude! Mr yang...yes humble n can Cham-xiong kinda boss. He by the way has got a very adorable grandson bout 3-4yrs old. N jus as well-mannered as his grandfather lor :)

whoa, I didn't know that he's already a grandpa! :)

It seems like many of the PRC nationals are young grandparents... very much the case like the elderly PRC nationals in our neighbourhood.

Years ago, when such a trend wasn't that commonly sighted in our neighbourhood, I commented to an aunty (from China) that her baby looks really cute & well-fed. And it was embarassing when she grinned at me with a row of silver teeth & said that it's her granddaughter & she's babysitting for her daughter :P

Hi All!

Just some wall decor art-piece to share. It's in copper bas-relief, beautifully hand-crafted and a panoramic 3-in-1 piece!

Cheers!

I saw such pieces being sold at chinatown; quite a number of shops r carrying it. There is both left & right orientation too.

Some of which came in black face accented in gold.. It is magnificent..

Where did u get yours from or r u supplying such artworks?

hi edenstrauss!

thanks for yr feedback. thought i would share with those keen to buy where they can get it. didn't know it's available here. wow, hats off to you, you must really really love art pieces of buddha, a connoisseur in fact!

And no, i don't trade in such art pieces, neither do i hv a set. Didn't hv the $$ *sigh* to buy when my wife and i came across the lovely wall piece at an Aonang Beach outlet in Krabi. i was so taken with the piece i immediately took a shot, so now at least i can vicariously enjoy the art piece in my digital foto album :P once in a while. Actually from yr selection i can see u hv a good n critical eye for art pieces. i agree with yr opinions on the pieces u wished to buy, but only after u hv pointed out the good features (or bad ones) in the piece. otherwise i wld be really clueless! 8|

see'ya!

U flatter me :) it looks expensive. The ones @ Chinatown cost a huge bomb too..

Tuv interested in canvas painting. I m in the midst of doing up a new thread for my experience as a shopper @ this art gallery at lucky chinatown. They've got gd quality canvas painting which had a 3d effect, meaning that when u look at the scenery, it seems like u could walk in there.

However, the pitiful part is that even though the service is great when prior or after sales, many ppl didn't know abt the shop & the traffic flow @ lucky chinatown is errr, not right or as good becox it attracts mostly elderly.

I m getting my Buddha painting framed there & would b buying a few lotus painting ... But have to figure out where 2 hang becox I haven't that many walls for pictures in my flat. :P

Hi,

u flatter me... the ones found @ chinatown cost a huge bomb! It seems that they cater more to tourists because every single thing has a steep price tag.

R u interested in canvas painting? I'm doing up a new thread on a small art gallery @ Lucky Chinatown (known as Yi Mei Yuan). They've got some canvas painting which are of great quality becox they had that 3D effect, meaning that we look @ the painting, it didn't look "flat" like a 2D. It seems like I'm ready to walk into the painting.

Even with the great service (both before sales & after sales) & good workmanship, it's a pity that many people didn't know about this gallery. The worse part is that the location is such that they aren't getting the right crowd of people to visit.

I'm getting a gold framing for my buddha painting from the shop & also buying a couple of lotus painting... in gold tone but still trying to figure out where to hang them becox I haven't that many walls for pictures in my flat. :P

Hi folks,

Thank you for visiting this thread on buddha canvas painting.

I've created another thread on canvas painting by another art gallery that isn't pricey given the good workmanship & service.

If you are interested in viewing some of the art pieces found in the gallery, kindly visit the following topic:

Reasonably Priced Canvas Paintings From 艺美苑 (Yi Mei Yuan)
