1 pointA big hello to all fellow EM owners! I hope this thread is still active... If you're all still reading this, could you let me know if any one has constructured a roof at your balcony area? Am unsure of HDB regulations on this even though I have seen some EMs in my vicinity with tiled roofs. My fiance and I would like to extend our living area and construct a polycarbonate roof at the balcony for an al fresco dining area. Your invaluable advice would be very much appreciated!

1 pointMods, pls advise if I am violating any rules here. Am thinking of a thread that has pics of items that are purchased from Taobao, to share with fellow forumers. Can be as large as sofa's, sinks, and shower-heads; to as small as... I also don't know what! If possible can include price-paid, price-here and warranty period etc.

1 pointI also using tempered glass. Aesthetic wise, speaks for itself. Very very nice, to us and satisfied ...! Guess we just have to be careful since all materials have threshold and we have the awareness on how to maintain it. Worst case, just get a new one

1 pointInteresting short journey so far! My opinion on your Rinnai inner flame hob. I totally disagree with your ID on tempered glass hobs. It might look just that bit sleeker but there are points to consider. A few considerations on tempered glass: can't take extreme heat and might crack if any boiling hot pot is placed directly onto it.can't take high impact hits too.scratches are permanent.this is only for the Rinnai tempered glass hob. Notice there's a rubber lining between the stainless steel strips and glass at the top and bottom of the hob? Rubber tends to disintegrate over time. It's a natural process but that process gets accelerated with heat, corrosive liquids and also physical impact like rubbing during cleanups. Even if it doesn't disintegrate, there's a fair chance that it could get torn accidentally during cooking/cleaning.Tempered glass hob can be used but you just have to be more careful during usage and maintenance. My opinion is that the stainless steel hob looks far better than tempered glass and the bonus is it's about half the price too. Anyway, the Scandinavian theme is all about simple clean lines (regardless of material) which the stainless steel version exhibits too. Btw I went through these considerations when choosing my hob too. Hope it helps

1 pointSeems like you choose a more expensive option for the bedrooms door. Normally bedroom door are about SGD300 each but yours is solid, not sure what the solid meant though? Nyatoh doors?

1 pointAnyway an update on my oven which i bought from Mayer Marketing, i called them up today and asked them if i could upgrade the oven i bought to the next better one as i remember they had that model at the warehouse sale too. And the said YES!! How nice of them. Another reason is that the original oven i bought will only come in beginning July which might be too late for me. And I asked if i could have it at the warehouse sale price and they said YES!! So i only added $40 more to upgrade from my $399 to $439 oven!! And the best part, i told them said i went to their shop recently and saw that they have this fantastic promotion where if you buy some items you can do a purchase with purchase to buy a built in microwave oven and I asked very nicely and batted my eye lashes which i'm sure they could hear over the phone. LOL. And they said YES!! So i got a super good deal built in microwave at a very cheap price!! Usual price is $899 and if you buy stuff from the shop you can get it at $399!! CHEAP for a built in microwave. My last house i bought a TEKA built in microwave which was very basic and already cost me $700+ and some more this was like super sale price liao. But this was 7 years ago la. Oven i upgraded to this for $40 more: http://www.mayer.sg/index.php/products/oven/oven-ariston/oven2013-05-30-10-20-07-detail And this is the lovely microwave which i got for only $399!! YIPPEEEE - even hubby thinks its a good deal. If you are interested can go down to Mayer to check out the deal Even it says coming soon on the website - the stocks are in liao: http://www.mayer.sg/index.php/products/oven/oven-ariston/oven2013-08-05-04-44-30-detail So i'm feeling quite pleased with myself today.

I googled it in taobao and the price is 5 times cheaper than Singapore (exclude shipping) anyone can advise if it is safe to purchase from this site? http://item.taobao.com/item.htmspm=a230r.1.14.42.kjvwiU&id=24637948090 Also does anyone know where else in Singapore can I get a similar set of sofa at budget sgd 2k?

1 pointI go and check the ORP for the Kangen water then. But it kind of works in a sense? For eg, I'm told that the Kangen water has alot of health benefits and there are many testimonials from patients etc. Normally, I am inclined to take such spiels with a pinch of salt. However, it kind of worked for my pet puppy who is now 7-8 months old. I adopted her when she was 2-3months old and she is a mix mongrel breed. She had distemper when she was small. At that time, my parents had 2 adult mongrel dogs and both dogs died 1-2months after catching this virus from my pet puppy. Strangely, she survived instead and after clearing distemper, she suddenly had ringworm that developed on a couple areas on her back. The ringworms were quite big and had to take her to the vet. She was given a injection for her swelling eyelids as a result of the ringworm and no medication for ringworm because the vet allowed us to try using Kangen water on her externally besides giving her drinking filtered water. It took 1-2 days for the ringworm wounds to stop bleeding after spraying 3 times a day, then a week for the ringworm to show sign of getting smaller after daily spraying. It took a while for the fur to grow back in the affected areas after that. This is what I remember.

1 pointhi, i suggest that u used items that carries an electrical standard, be it SS (Singapore standard) or BS (British standard). Unapproved items may cause hazards even when installed properly. Its probably more expensive here bcoz these kind of switches go thru safety checks & given safety marks.
