Cost Of Reno
pinkpetter replied to jcwp's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
haha Sorry for being swakoo. what comes in a brand new condo in the first place? -
mm CPF ready, HDB has all the documents already.. but they made Ah Soon run to and fro three trips to submit the "moving of supplies" plan. haiz Hopefully everything will be done this week. I also want to see my nice recess up with a big shoe cabinet to comfortably put my shoes soon...

No matter.. Yeak did a great job too! I think both contractors are good.
-
adrian john YAY congrats on a good valuation price! Take care of yourself ya! I do hope your meeting with Ah Soon goes well!
-
EH? no la.. I have to shift all these things because I'm buying my recess too so I know that shifting all will come up to about $700-$900 (someone here told me that) I don't know how much shifting one will cost... He won't charge you (free on his side) But PUB will? cos PUB's people shifting.

hehe just do a print-screen while the file is open, paste it in paint program and save it as a jpg file. laying marble can cost 2 times that of laying homogenous tiles depending on the size of the marble slab. The material itself is more expensive, it's heavier so harder to lay and thicker so harder to cut, thus labour costs can be very high.

is it is it? the other one very far away... no time to travel this week. Sigh. haha I hope he replies and see what he says!! hahaha some people... No la... we must still control and not give in to everything.. but if we really want something then I think we should. Otherwise even when you go to bed at night, you'll dream of it!

mm I'm really glad you thought about it.. buying some furniture from him it's only a few thousand but if you do reno with him it's outright 20k.. and who knows much more. It doesn't matter who one signs up with... what's impt is to get someone who is reliable. I never thought that renovation can be such a scary thing until I went through it myself. ya... but I think if it's a few hundred.. it's worth it la. Better than if you have an eyesore in your house and every day you're trying to imagine that it's THAT other nice one. Anyways cannot go barang2 today already.. SOB got stuff on. sigh.

WAH So fast!! Good for you!! haha congrats to both of you!

MmM I rem when I asked Native02 I practically begged and I explained my entire situation to him. At that time, Native's reno was coming to an end and it wasn't so near CNY yet so maybe that's why Native gave it to me... mm whahaha Uncle suppose to call PUB for you. PUB will not entertain owners. They will only speak to Contractors. But you can try. Call and try to ask what needs to be done. Cos most of the people speak English and you would understand better. Then translate to uncle. Then PUB will send people down to move it for you. But that will cost some money wor. I'm hoping soon also. Going to bug HDB again. urgh I hope so for you too. But I think if Uncle Soon "hires" them to help then they should be ok too. Tell us about them! haha I agree.
-
congrats hibernate... Probably his older brother or his younger one, Jason. hehhe,. Hope he gives you a good quote too!
-
agreed. But I think Ah Soon is learning to manage at this point also. Like he's hiring more of his own men and doesn't outsource the electricals anymore. There was also news of him hiring his own tilers. I think the last few months has also "taught' him to adapt to the increase in jobs. heheheh

Eh I think getting boxes from office easier. Some times people advertise here to get rid of their boxes? Good idea!

This is my ceiling fan... it's small so it's quite flat. I'm using the 48" one. Most 48" designs are like this. Then I have two hanging lights at the sides of the fans so that the lights are lower than the fans to prevent the flickering effect.

Got it. That's what I thought to because it'll be easier for my parents. If I do it like yours, they'll probably ask ME to get the things all the time. I'll go mad. THANKS!
