I'm not sure if my kitchen cabinet is considered suspended, especially the bottom half. But i love it bcos it's very easy to vaccum and mop the kitchen floor and when i wash, it dries faster and doesn't touch the cabinet or damage them. Once my washing machine water host broke and flooded my whole kitchen floor. Thank god my cabinets were not damaged bcos they don't touch the floor. Click on my signature header tosee my T-blog for pics... not sure if that is what u r referring to.

Yes pls let us know once your website is ready. I must really applaud you for all the patience and care you took to do those designs. Really impressive. I seriously amazed...I've always wanted to add such designs on my room walls, they look too plain.

I did walk-in wardrobe too. I think my T-blog as a picture of it. You can take a look at it to get a rough picture. It's not very big, just a normal size WIW. If you need more pics, let me know I will try to upload them. Abt getting dusty...not really lor. Quite ok for me, i usually wipe all the wardrobe cupboards in my house once every 1-2 months. Even normal cupboards/wardrobes do get dusty if you don't wipe them regularly.

At the time I bought my house in May 2006, the inflation was not so high...also the property price was not rocket high... at that time 23.6K was not considered reasonable for what i requested. My reno was completed in Sept 2006 and I moved in in Nov 2006. Mine is a brand new house, i had to do flooring for entire house, kitchen cabinets and floors, feature wall for TV and walk in wardrobe only in master bedroom, paint the whole house. This alone for 23K was considered expensive at that time. I could have got all this done for below 15K if i had gone to a contractor. But i am happy with the outcome and the design for my house from what i get from Gplan. Anyway, all the best for your future home. -
Yes i agree with you...it's really very nice. Very reflective and easy to maintain, also after cooking, I don't have to hurry and clean it immediately on the same day as the dirt is not obvious. Whereas stainless steel, the dirt in very obvious and sticks easily, so better to clean it immediately. Sometimes i clean my glass backsplash after a few days, just wipe with magiclean or beautex kitchen wipes, then run over with newspaper, looks as good as new. Also i can keep an eye on the stove or flame from my sink bcos of the reflections...if u see my sink and stove position from my T-blog, you'll get what i mean. I just love my backsplash. i think that's the best thing i ever did to my kitchen so far.

There is. Nowadays we go to Johor once every 1-2 months and do our grocery shopping there, including toiletries. Usually in singapore can easily cost around 300 plus. But in JB, all done at half the cost. So those who have cars or can borrow parents/siblings/in-laws, worth going across the causeway to the Giant or Carrefour.

I have been a loyal member of the forum for the past 2 - 3 years and my house was also done by Kelvin. If you search for stories from other forummers, you will see how many of them regret taking cheaper quotes from IDs who are unheard of or with lack of confidence. You will know how many of them were cheated by other IDs firms ; using low quality materials, poor workmanship, coming up with additional hidden costs, delay in project completion. Worst case, some even just abandon the project halfway and disappeared. However, with Kelvin I could rest assured that my house was taken care off. I didn't had to think about it day and night, call from my office to check how the reno is going. Each time something new is completed, i get an MMS with the updates on what was done. There were even times where me and my hubby did not visit our house during the reno for more than 2 weeks. But still things went on as planned and workmanship was impressive. This is the kind of commitment i get from Kelvin when he takes up a project. He may sound arrogant or over -confident. But that is just because, he is very sure he can deliver what he promises. It's been almost 1.5 years since the house has been handed over to me and i moved in. Until now, if there are still minor damage done due to our daily wear and tear, i just ring Kelvin and he gets his man to touch up for me. This is the kind of after sales service you get from Kelvin. How many other IDs can promise you such after sales service ? And you know how much was my reno cost in total ? Only 23.6 K. It all depends on what you want. If you want to work within your budget, look for a contractor. Don't go to IDs. IDs stand for Interior Designers. They service comes with creative ideas and value added service. This explains why they are expensive. If you want someone to do just what you say, then look for contractors. They are best for such jobs. They will do their job well for what you ask. I am not trying to be rude here........i'm just stating the facts. No offences....... -
Oh, sorry, i didn't realise my fridge can't see in the pics. the fridge is facing the entrance of the kitchen. It's next to the oven.

No problem. when is your next kitchen makeover ? anytime soon ?

if u want to fit the above criterias, your stove, washing machine and sink layout has to be placed some sort like how we did. See my T-blog by clicking my signature for pic of completed kitchen. Kitchen layout (L shape) quite similar to yours. My Stove is NOT facing window My stove is NOT facing kitchen door Basin is NOT facing kitchen door Basin IS next to window Fridge IS facing kitchen door Washing machine is facing window.

My ID seriously quoted me $150 at the time of my reno, about 1.5 year ago. Maybe now more expensive... Also maybe bcos it was not for the entire length. Glass backsplash was already inclusive in my reno package but not the entire length of my kitchen. I requested to extend and was asked to pay additional $150. But are u sure not it's $1K plus ? That's really very expensive. It was spray painted using special paint meant for glasses. U can click on my signature to see my T-blog. Got pic of my kitchen. U can see the length of the glass backsplash.

actually that is not tile at all. just did cement screed and laid aluminium strips in between. Then painted with Epoxy and pebble wash at the side. Wanted to try something diff from the usual tiles. So far quite good. Not slippery, easy to wash and dry quite fast.

Hi Katsim PM-ed Kelvin's number to you. StarTV did filming at my house in Jln Membina for a tamil drama series that's coming out soon on one of their Tamil channels. It's gonna be broadcasted in worldwide to whoever who subscribes to StarTV channels too ! The producer and director were very impressed with the interior design done by Kelvin. They are thinking of using it for future projects too. Half of the series was shot in my house. So exciting. Can't wait for it to be aired. Thanks Kelvin. -
Oh i don't have the details off hand. We are using a step down transformer and it works well. I'll go home and check tonight , then update.
-
Wow $988 for 560 is so expensive! i bought from Amazon and had it shipped to Singapore, total cost was less than $700 !
-
My Roomba 560 just arrived yesterday from US and the charger is black in colour, seems different from the previous pics posted here. Anyone knows how to modify the charger ? Also does anyone know what transformer or converter i can buy if can't mod ? any pics to post ?

Queenstowners, Redhillers, Tiong Bahruans ...
hasibee replied to Ah Keong's topic in Neighbourhood Networking
Ya, I totally agree with you. I'm living in Blk 19 Jalan Membina, the first block facing the road, directly opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza and we love the area so much. So convenient. Takes me only 10 mins to my workplace by mrt (Tg Pagar) and 15 -20mins for my husband by bus (Science Park). We just moved in and it's almost a year now. Mine is only 4th floor and ppl are offering 450 - 500K. I bought mine at 339K from HDB (5 room). Property price here is so high and one of the owner in our block sold his flat for 675K if i'm not wrong, for a 16th Floor flat. Ppl knock our door almost every weekend, asking if we want to sell our flat. I wish i could sell, really!) -
Not a very pleasant experience with this CitiMap mover that i engaged. During Collection: 1. Our appt was at 3pm, they only came at 6.30pm even after i called them almost every half hour. Each time u call, they give u a crap and bull story... 2. Did not bubble wrap electronic & glass items as wat their sales guy promised. When asked how come, they said they ran out of the bubble wrap. 3. Only 2 people came and took 3 hours to move out everything. Kept taking smaller breaks in between (will disappear for abt 10 mins). They only moved all the things out at around 9.30pm. 4. Didn't bring ladder and other tools to dismantle the wardrobe & bed. Expect us to provide. When asked why they didn't bring when they know they have dismantling work, they said they forgot. ********But never forget to collect money from us***************** During Delivery/ Returning the goods: 1. Late again, suppose to come at 3pm, came only at 5.30pm 2. Found wardrobe top to be broken. When asked about compensation, they said this is so minor that can't claim/compensate. They bought superglue from the store below my block and glue it back. 3. One of the 6 glass panels for our book case found broken after they left. When asked, they said we didn't tell them when they were around and so got no proof who is the one who broke it! How to check when they were around , bcos initially they packed the glass panels in a box, wrapped in paper. When we started opening up all the boxes, that's when we found out that the glass panel is broke. 4. Refuse to put the boxes in the respective room. There are only 2 rooms and we asked them to put some boxes in one of room as my parents are old and can't carry heavy boxes. They refused, saying they got to go and rushing for another project. When refused to pay, they didn't want to leave and kept arguing with my parents until my dad just gave up and paid them off. ***********I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND CITIMAP TO ANYONE ANYMORE************** From my own experience moving to my hse, A-One movers are so much more professional, punctual and more customer oriented even though they are just very slightly more expensive. They handle your items much more carefully and this CitiMap ppl ! So disappointing....

Coping Without A Maid?
hasibee replied to ARCHer's topic in Maids & Cleaners - All About Domestic Help
Ya tell me abt it. I sprained my knee recently when washing the toilet. It was so bad that i couldn't walk for almost a week and my knee was swollen very badly. Even aft 2 months now, i still feel the pain slightly sometimes. -
oh is it ? my id said acid wash only for smooth surface, so never do acid wash for me. So now the stains are still there and they are so difficult to remove. Tried using stain remover still can't. Even with regular mopping, it does not go away. we're at loss wat to do.

Coping Without A Maid?
hasibee replied to ARCHer's topic in Maids & Cleaners - All About Domestic Help
I do not have a maid. Only me and my husband in a 5rm flat. We don't have any kids. Both of us are working. Already we are finding it a little difficult to cope. I cook on alternate days evenings as my husband prefers home cooked food. I also do washing and vaccuming on alternate days evenings. My hubby will help me mopping once a week. Other than that u'll hav oth work like cleaning up aft cooking, folding clothes, washing toilet and etc.... By the time u finish all ur work, u r dead tired that u just want to hit the bed and sleep as u need to go to work the next day. We hardly spend quality time together anymore doing things that we like, example: watching DVDs, playing games and sometimes even too tired for S**. So we do feel the strain. What more if we hav a baby ? Can't afford to engage maid as we still have reno loan and oth stuffs to settle...
