  1. Thanks mark. Been to that shop. Very large collection, but the genre not what we looking for
  2. Yep yep.. SingEu right? I saw his t-blog too
  3. Oops.. guess I posted comment too fast, without looking at the details! Modern industrial look is very special.. but I heard the cement screed very prone to cracking over time.. u may wanna check for that house which you're shown.. its cement screed was done how many yrs or mths ago? and any cracks appearing already? Yah.. I also dun think the bath-tub in balcony idea will be approved by HDB.. LOL (our balcony does have a hole in the ground for water discharge)
  4. Hey boyblunder, thks for dropping by! Yeah.. the more sweat you put into it, the more you feel for it. Juz like the army route-march or SOC.
  5. yah.. I agree with boyblunder that it blocks out the light.. If you want that area to be brightly-lit, might be an issue?
  6. Hey Kobelala, I love ur seats!! Got the feminine curves.. where did u get it?? I thot I saw a similar looking chair at someone else t-blog too.. Mm.. can't remember whom..
  7. Wahh... I love your standing bath-tub!! my WTB will definitely jump with excitement if she saw the pic. her dream is to have one at our balcony (cuz our balcony is not directly facing other HDB blocks, yet can see the straits..) But I wonder if its actually do-able to install one standing bath-tub at balcony..
  8. I also laminated my living hall + 3 bedrooms. Brand is Vista, which I believe its price range is similar to Power Dekor as my contractor let us choose btw these 2 brands only. One area near the window plyed up abit cuz I forgot to close the windows on one of the rainy nights.. My WTB loves the warm comfy feeling of laminated flooring too.
  9. 1st coat of Paint (sealant) With the help of my FIL and brother-in-law, me & WTB spent a whole Sunday painting the house with white sealant. Selant is neccessary to make the subsequent coats of paints stick, as we had plastered all our walls and ceilings. ## painted the wall behind the yet-to-be-installed kitchen cabinet too. Was advised it helps in keeping away pests Our house has gotten so WHITE !! (my fav color) so 'Apple'..
  10. Run water pipes for Washer & Kitchen sink
  11. Change Windows rollers and latches Some of the original windows latches are rusty and not working so well. Initially we wanted to just change the few affected latches, but due to the special price offered by the window contractor, we changed all the rollers and latches anyway. The uncle said we got the special price cuz we are Mr Lee's (our reno contractor) clients. I think we saved nearly a hundred bucks. Turned out that both of them are actually good friends who often go for tea together We might engage his service again when we want to install window grills. ## the workers have to take down each of the window panels in order to install that white rubber rollers But I was disappointed to learn that after changing all the latches and rollers, we still get the screeching sounds sometimes when I slide the windows.. I was told by the window contractor that it is becos the original window metal tracks were poorly installed in the first place and at some points the windows frames scratched against each other during opening/closing. I always thought my parents' house sliding windows are of better quality; at least the windows were not as 'light-weight' as ours! What to do.. No budget to re-do all our windows.. Just have to live with the screeching sound problem.
  12. I like your white, high-gloss wall tiles!
  13. I had a siamese tiger fish before. Being ignorant (& young then) I put it together with my guppies. Shocked to find the next day, only the tails remained of my poor guppies..
  14. <con't> Plastering The plastering workers worked quite late into 2 nights.. While I applauded them for the speed & hard work, the workmanship left much to be desired. ## Left out the edges around one of the doors ## Edges along all the door frames poorly done ## We later had a tough time scrapping the plaster off the window frames.. Probably that is normal workmanship? Feedback to contractor about the poor standard of plastering, and he got his workers to come back to touch-up. But his workers still missed out the edges along one of the rooms' door. Initially I wanted them to come touch-up again.. but in the end, we decided to just 'close one eye' since it is not that obvious.
  15. Plastering (week 2) The workers took 3 days to plaster the whole house - all walls and ceilings.. except for the kitchen & toilets walls (which are tiled) ## The ex-owner had the whole house painted with 'rock-stone' effect. We couldn't stand it, esp me !! LOL So no choice.. Had to spend $$ to plaster the whole house. ## At a corner of the kitchen ceiling, due to water leakage.. Fortunately not to the extent of water seeping thru.
  16. Mm.. I should have insisted my contractor do the under mount that time. Haha.. How ur ID plans to patch-up that hole at the cabinet door? Cuz I got a few holes (size similar to as shown in ur pic) in my old aircon trunkings, which I'm temporarily covering with aircon tapes. Feasible to use putty plastering for holes that big? Thanks!
  17. Oh no.. I just painted directly on my toilets stainless steel pipes yesterday, without primer Lets see how it goes..
  18. Hope we all get the stuffs we desire! Happy Shopping!
  19. Everything looking veri good, bro!! ur MBR & open kitchen designs are..
  20. Thanks.. When we get to see ur t-blog? coming soon?
  21. Congrats on getting ur new home! Nice greenery view from your balcony...
  22. Hi laion, I see that your sink is mounted below the level of ur table-top. Any reason for doing so? I actually wanted to the same for my sink too, as I feel water is less likely to 'overflow' from edges of sink.. but my contractor commented nobody do this way anymore. Maybe this kind of installation requires more work on the table-top fabrication?
  23. It is tiring work.. one dun save much actually.. hah
  24. Juz came back home, after a day of painting @ new hse. So tired.. Hahaha.. But its almost done already, and furnitures, electrical applicances will all come in on this coming Sat !! super excited!!
