  1. I m amazed at the number of window panels and grilles you need to install. For safety reason, Bo pian lor.....
  2. Hooray, renovation is finally over! Today, they have installed the wooden handrail for my staircase and added more "leaves" to my balcony grilles. This sat is handover day. Final touchup and polishing will be done. Will now start packing and movng things over.
  3. Balcony looks really nice with those lighted cubes
  4. Looks like your I'D is trying to save $$$. Overlay is definitely chapter than hacking. What is written in the agreement? To hack or overlay? You have to make your decision and let your ID know what u want lor.
  5. Who is Alex? Mine was quoted for abt $1.2k for 3 bedroom and 1 living. Total of 16 panels. What about u?
  6. Oic, I thought my ID was not truthful when he said this design is normal. Anyway, I still prefer it without the borders..... Flushed, smooth and easy to walk up and down
  7. Zio, I cannot PM u , maybe it is full.
  8. does the laminate staircase have trimming/ border on each step? ID told me this kind of design is normal. I didnt like the feeling, so I got him to redo.
  9. Your grille design is similar to mine, except mine is white powder coated.
  10. Hi Joyous, Nice toilet. I love your big and spacious toilet.
  11. I find our EM staircase steps quite small and thus it is inevitable that our feet will surely step on the trimming. Very uncomfortable feeling. If this design is ok for the commercial use bcos we wear shoes. The other problem is the "tweeting" noise made by the rubbing between the trimming and the laminate wood when we walk on the stairs. It is a good thing our rework was a success! is with trimming borders verses this one (after rework)
  12. Angel, I dun see any major issues in your reno since you are there to "supervise" daily. I dun have the privilege to check everyday and so sometimes ended up having to get them to rework. Wish u smooth reno all the way to the end and dont forget to invite me to see your beautiful place once completed.... hee hee
  13. Your staircase flooring is laminate wood or parquet?
  14. True.... They pass their fault to us in the form of higher cost. I have made it clear that I knot going to pay them for rework. Perhaps, it is my fault, then I will pay for rework.
  15. U sound very disappointed and frustrated with your ID . Why not share with us your story?
  16. Thx Angel, i don't know the actual price, all I know I chose the one with the lowest price lor. I used blue frosted film for all corridor windows and blue transparent for the other windows.
  17. Winding Down ...... End of Renovation Started renovation since 18 July.... finally it's coming to a closure. The final bits were done over the weekend. Long-awaited Pot-Belly Grille at Balcony was finally up on Sat. We still accepted it even though it wasn't 100% what we actually requested. We had wanted curve on the top rather than straight. ID also wasn't able to get 8-petal flower and gave us a 5-petal one instead. Eventually, we made a small request to amend his mistakes.... ie to add a few more leaves to exisiting design. The blue frosted solar film for all windows was also installed The rework of laminate staircase.... side trimming finally gone It took ID 3 weeks to come out with a solution..... Now left with the wooden handrail, which he promised to do it on Tue. I am glad most of the major things are done..... at least we can now focus on buying some furniture and start our packing. Thanks to all friends in the forum for their invaluable feedback and encouragement.
  18. Hello neigbour Jopej, mistakes do happen. My ID also has the same problem, he doesnt read my sms properly.... what makes matter worse, he goes ahead to do what he thinks is most convenient to him. As a result, I am experiencing many reworks. Sianz..... .... but cheer up, it will be less stressful once we look on the positive side and move on ... Jia You!
  19. Yaolong, for such huge flats like ours, a lot of $$$ goes into electrical, windows, grilles, plastering etc etc. You mentioned a massive $4K for rewiring the whole house.... I wish I could do that for my EM. I only rewire 1st level and used back existing cables for 2nd level lor.
  20. Congrats! We r on the same boat. Also at final stage of reno. Need to go around the house to do a final check. I will probably need to switch on all electrical points, turn on every tap to check for leakage, run through the agreement again. I m just afraid something is amiss. Once paid, it's going to be hard to ask them to come back.
  21. Very nice 3D drawing of the living hall. I like the colour scheme also
  22. Wow amazing. I didn't know cistern can also be concealed. Toilet is very well done.
  23. I think u r right, My contractor also didnt put tiles on those box up areas.
  24. Yep, once cabinet is up and painting done..... Everything will be swee swee
