  1. should be able to pass thru main door right? its 85cm wide only. i hope can... coz i think my side by side is 90cm? *prays*
  2. bluecheeze, may i know where did you get your ceiling fans from? can share the pics/link?
  3. even the flooring? looks ok from your photo. What are you planning for the floors?
  4. wah... very helpful indeed. you listed some of the things that i never thought of. like point 11.
  5. yup. if old bird kim76 says correct, must be correct. i read he and some others always buy items overseas! anything can ask them...
  6. i'm in the midst of ordering. as in, i've given her my list of items to buy and she's doing the ordering now. (as in now now.) when i asked her for quotation, she did not mention abt the RMB50 per link. it was when i gave her the list of links that she mentioned she will have to charge if i need her to order. but i already knew abt the per link from other RT-ers. so no surprises... My list is quite substantial. includes small items that i think are abt the same price as SG. but for convenience sake, i just use Amcon. the larger items will offset the losses.
  7. :D oh yah. and then GST too. so it's 1. ocean freight at RMB550.00/CBM 2. Shipping Doc at $35.00/SET 3. GST 4. Per link at RMB50.00
  8. reno started already? Keep us updated! By the way.. notice there are a number of ant poisons in the kitchen. hmmm...
  9. besides the $50rmb per link, you have to pay for a shipment document at S$35 each. you can list many items on the same list. meaning u buy all at once it's $35. if u separate, then have to charge u again lo. This is wat i understand la...
  10. Congrats on your new home! looks spacious and quite new. planning to do any hacking?
  11. Hi Ment0s i might have missed your msg.. As a matter of fact, i have decided on my table! Will be taking the practical route and have a normal dining table. Thanks for sharing! but my tiles are up to $2.80 only. we're ok with it as we made a trip to the Geylang Soon Bee Huat and saw our kitchen tiles already. got some choices within budget la.. =) mai hiam buay pai. we're only having tiles in the kitchen and toilet anyway. no tiles in living and rooms. so need to top up oso minimal. As for the laminates, not sure what the usual rate is but we are allowed to select up to $60 ones.
  12. i'm still in the process of speaking with amcon. the biggest item i will buy are those computer/office chairs. among many small items like taps and lights. i think if u are buying in quantity, the $10 per link is ok. like my kitchen faucet, i'm getting 3 pieces. (for my mum's hse too) so the $10 divide by 3 is not too bad. once my items arrive, i will update how they are packed... (hope they arrive in 1 piece!)
  13. Hey blue77 agree with you on the lighting cost! yesterday i went to a light shop in AMK, the sales lady not very frenly thought =X guess how much they are selling one LED track light for. $99!!!! OMG. summersann bought for $80. i think considered ex already. this AMK shop might as well go rob a bank.
  14. welcome to RT. I learnt a lot from this forum too! But i went for contractor instead of ID. think some contractors call themselves ID, so just be careful. If you know what you want, a contractor would suffice. esp if you want a simple reno. RT forummers make pretty good advisors too. =) When i asked my contractor if i can keep the tiles in the kitchen, he said got to check the tiles before advising coz the flat is 20 years old. but we opted to hack. in fact another 2 or 3 contractors we met told us they have to check the tiles before confirming. z3phy
  15. yupyup... when i asked her how long the entire process will take from ordering to delivery, she said if i order now (that was 8 Feb), i'll receive the items end of feb. That's probably also inclusive of CNY ph.
  16. haha.. oops. din mean to cause you the dilemma. Personally, i prefer white lights in the kitchen. looks clean, professional and good against your kitchen colours - wood/white. you can opt for daylight. read somewhere, daylight is abt 3/4 brightness of the usual white. i'm sure there are suppliers. Just my 2 cents worth.
  17. lol.. thanks summersann. got to test the lights for myself.. looking forward to more stunning pictures from you.
  18. place looking good so far. ur hubby oso contractor ah? lol very efficient leh.
  19. very impressive reno indeed. Oh yah...can share how wide is the bathroom wall (the one with the rain shower)? and the walking space gap? Thanks in advance!
  20. ahh.. i see. but kinda pricey dun you think? i saw somewhere in RT, someone selling 12w LED track lights at $58 per pc. Anyway, you mentioned the track is cheap. $15 per metre? Pardon my questions... i intend to do track lights for the entire hse. =X
  21. Ok, we're thinking of getting digital locks online. http://list.qoo10.sg/s/DIGITAL-LOCK?keyword=digital+lock&keyword_auto_change= for example the SHS 6020 is priced at ard $350 but local suppliers selling it at more than 2x the price. Anyone know if it's easy to install? my contractor has never done it before. I also read that the korean parallel imports may not fit our SG doors. Anyone tried yet?
  22. are those LED track lights? how many watts are they? 5 units enough to light up the kitchen? oh and are they warm light or day light? (they look different in the pictures) wanna know coz wondering how many i should buy for my place. =) btw, the kitchen is OMG lovely!!!!!! looks very large and spacious.
  23. Looks like we have abt the same timeline. targeting to start reno first week of march too =) how long did your taobao items take to arrive?
  24. wow.. u received them just before CNY. =)The cage light looks fantastic. You shipped your items via taobao agent?
