  1. Hi everyone, I just bought a ground floor unit in Punggol with a really long PES. I really like PES units and have always wanted to stay in one, so that I can extend my living room area to the "outdoors" and have more living space. Do you all do decking and fully enclose the balcony to maximise the PES space? Below is the unit and type of balcony. Can anyone advise what you did with your PES area? Pictures would be great too.
  2. Hi, Yeah.. AC Ryan is plug and play. Super easy. Just plug the hdmi cable provided in the box to the TV and tadah.. Instant usage. Haha. Just plug into the ACryan ur USB or hard disk and play from there. It detects ur drive or hardisk.
  3. Hi, Would recommend the AC Ryan, as I've been using AC Ryan for the last 3 years for watching US TV Drama series in 1080 format. My AC Ryan box is older than the one in your picture, but it still plays all formats of the new dramas I have now too. Hope it helps.
  4. Hi, Beautiful home.. I'm interested in the noodle bowl with cover and the mop. Mind sharing the links? Much appreciate and happy moving in soon.
  5. Hi, Can I check how much is your ID charging you for the "sticking" labour of the craft bricks onto the wall? Thank you
  6. Hi xhonesweethonex, Great savings on the brick walls! Mind sharing the link for that? Thanks.
  7. Nice to know we have another renotalker who likes the cottage style like me.
  8. Hi neighbour from across.. Haha. I'm staying at Water Terraces 2 and also bought a 5rm flat. Very nicely done up house you have and I nust say that the reno went very well. Thumbs up to ur ID. Looking forward to seeing your completed photos. Cheers!
  9. Looking forward to ur pictures. Have a good reno!
  10. Wow... Truly an honour . Managed to get a photoshoot with the stars for memories? Hehe..
  11. Hi Countryglow, ^5.. Haha. I see.. wow really not cheap to do the wainscotting. But having some is better than having none.. I bet it'll still look great and bring a totally good feel in your living room.
  12. Wow, so exciting to see someone do a country style theme like me too. Love your idea of having the Wainscotting. Mind sharing how much your IDb is charging you for it per sqft? Looking forward to seeing your renovation T-blog. Cheers!
  13. Hi Shaowei14, I see.. $100+ each. Are they actual wooden beams or false ceiling beams? MY ID quoted me like $2,000+ for like 6-7 short wooden beams.. Oh! No wonder it's $1,400. Yah I was tossing the idea to do full glass sliding doors cause it'll allow more light into the kitchen and very beautiful too.. But cause most of my budget went into the feature wall so only doing half wood and half glass..
  14. Wow, very nice European deisgn. Your sticking to the theme real well. Totally liking your ideas and can't wait to see your reno happen too in July. I'm doing an English Country Living room and a Victorian MBR. Haha.. Hopefully things will go out well and I'm able to do a Reno T-blog in July too. Cheers!
  15. Hi, Notice in your hand drawn layout that you have some beams at your living room? Can share your costs for that and design? Also I saw that you split your kitchen into dry and wet kitchen. For the door to the wet kitchen, are you using glass sliding doors or wooden ones? I'm doing glass sliding doors with wooden frame around it like yours, and was quoted $620 for it. Dunno if that's the standard price.
  16. Hi Suikoden, Yup, the general package they offer downlights, false ceiling works, TV feature wall,TV console also. I replaced the TV feature wall and TV console to a stucco wall. It's a cheaper version of the brick wall.. Hehe.. I bought my own TV console off Taobao too so that's why no need my ID to build me a TV console. The roadshow I went to was their open house of one of their completed projects.. They usually get permission from their clients to use their renovated houses as showflat to future customers. You can check out their Facebook page https://www.face-book.com/absolook and check out their next showflat..
  17. Hi Suikoden, I think that 15k is not impossible but really have to ask for a lot of quotations and check on they type of materials they provide that's whithin that quotation. If your not fussy with high end quality stuff like iquartz and you don't mind solid surface, there's some saving there. With IDs, they sometimes charge you GST and also their "service charge" to manage the project for you. If you don't need someone to manage your project for you and you have time to visit ur new house during reno to supervise the contractors, then you save the money of not engaging a ID. Also IDs will help you come up with a 3D design which they inbuilt into their quotation so if you go with a contractor, they probably give you hand drawn 2D samples on the spot for your visualization. Again that 3D can cost between $300-$1000 that's already in the quotation. I chose an ID company for a few reasons: 1. That ID company was having a package which included free items like downlights, hood & hob, bathroom accessories, storage heater, and kitchen sink + tap. 2. Their company had one time free offers like $1,000 discount on Aircon + free digital lock + all drawers come with Blum closing + internal color for cabinets when I sign up at their showroom. Seriously all these if I were to buy outside would amount me to thousands. So if I can save these few thousands why not. The only downside I feel is that you cannot choose the brand of kitchen appliances, bathroom accessories and brand of storage heater. However, since I'm no too concerned about the brands of all these as long as they can serve their purpose, I'm ok.. Haha. I've also seen the company's work on their facebook and showroom + I've also seen my ID's work on actual renovations he was assigned. So I'm not too worried. Btw, I'm from blk A. Still got long long way to wait.. Haha.
  18. Hi Suikoden, Fellow neighbour Water Terraces II here too. Looks like quote a lot of capentry for $15k. And that's not inclusive of your electrical works too? I would suggest going for a contractor as you know what you want and contractors can help you save some money. Good luck on your reno, and yes.. I'm also waiting for my keys to come in 2nd Quarter of 2015.. Haha
  19. Hi everyone, I've finally purchased my 3-seater sofa and TV console from Taobao. I must say that they are in really good condition. Even the wood is solid wood. The both of them are really heavy.. Haha. Now the problem starts, my house is like 6months away and I'm storing in at my place. Hahaha.. Unless someone would like the wooden sofa immediately first?
  20. Hi, anyone knows the length of the main entrance of the new hdb BTO flats?
  21. Dear all, There is another thread in the forums talking about Absolook. You may wish to refer there. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/36267-absolook-interior-design/page-2?hl=absolook
  22. Dear all, I would like to add a note on this. My ID BH has left the company already due to personal reasons and Ben is looking after my project now. So far he has gone through with me my quotations that were previously stated by BH and gave me quite a few ideas too. He's managed to match my previous quotations as promised with BH. He's been responsive and quick to give me my quotations. I am currently awaiting for my 3D designs now. Do PM me if you still want Ben's contact. I've told him to give anyone who contacts him and signs up through him a special package. It is a difference of about $1000... I have previously stated my views on the company in my earlier post here, and some others agreed to it too. Absolook is competitive in terms of their packaging as they give freebies (eg, bathroom accessories, hood + hob, storage tank) and at their open house they give other freebies (eg, digital locks, kitchen equipment like air fryer etc). If you are not interested in packages and have exactly what you want to do, I suggest not looking for Absolook. it will be easier for you and probably better in terms of getting that desired look you want. P.S: I am NOT a staff of Absolook nor am I affiliated to them anyway. I am just expressing my own views and how I rate my ID. Happy renovating.
