Hob & Hood - Which Brand Should I Buy?
GoalHome replied to joper's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Also thinking of Franke hood. Asia Excel at IMM is having 30% discount now. Looks like a good price for 900m3/hr. -
Been looking at ovens and can't decide on which one... Brandt FC842XS1 (U.P. $1399) or Bosch HBA43B450A (U.P. $1449) Heard from sales that the Bosch has ecoclean function, that the top, rear and side liners don't need to be changed. Since i have no experience with ovens, would like to hear comments from oven users on its pros and cons or recommendations.

Which Hansgrohe outlet has 25% discount for citicard? Seems like there are some packages at the moment. Is the 25% discount applicable for promo packages as well?

Planning on having a 30cm induction hob and realised that the choices of hoods are limited as most are 60 or 90cm. Found some 90cm hoods that will look as good when paired with a 30cm hob. I'm inclined towards the Brandt hood but the Delizia is tempting with its higher power and lower price. Anyone has experience with Brandt or Delizia (from Mayer) to share? Are they as good as they claimed? Any other recommendations are also welcomed. Delizia DZH 519 IX $899 o 90cm glass chimney hood o 1060m3/hr extraction capacity (some websites state only 900m3/hr) o 3-speed setting o Aluminium filter o Halogen lamps: 2 x 40 W Brandt AD 789 XE1 $1099 o 90cm glass chimney hood o 700m3/hr extraction capacity o 4 extraction speed o 2 aluminium filter cassettes with removable handle, dishwasher safe o 1 motor + 1 fan o Halogen lamps: 2 x 20 W

KDK quoted $390.55 inclusive of GST, and installation estimated around $120 Looks nice but find it too pricey if install it in all bathrooms.

Planning on having a small 30cm induction hob for open kitchen... undecided which part of the kitchen to place it, will be either against the wall or island style. Most hood sizes are 60 or 90cm... any suitable 30cm hood to recommend? Need a small neat one.

Vinyl Plank Flooring In Bathrooms
GoalHome replied to summerflowers's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Vinyl flooring is commonly used in bathrooms in Australia. But the bathrooms are usually kept dry with little moisture. The climate here is more humid, so not sure if it's suitable. -

Compressed/broken Marble Vs Homogeneous Tiles
GoalHome replied to sunnytan31's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
I'm also considering compressed marble. From what i know, it cost slightly more than homogenous tiles. It is considerably a lot cheaper than marble tiles. However, i'm not sure if it is as easy to stain as marble tiles and whether can it be repolished. -
I'm tied between choosing marble, granite or homogenous tiles for my new house. I like marble but worry about the stains... granite is easy to maintain but rather dark in colour. Homo tiles are cheaper but i heard it also requires maintainance. Any has experience with using marble or homo tiles to share?

Been looking around at landed properties... and most of it does not seem to meet expectations. As such, looking at either A&A or reconstruction. Would like to seek advise on what are the cost and work involved for A&A or reconstruction. Planning on a property with land size approx 3,000 sqft, with a single storey building of about 2,000 sqft (considering adding a loft too). Based on the above, how much will it cost? Is it costly to build a staircase to loft, relocate or build new toilet... how much is the cost? Any advise on plans, methods and costings will be greatly appreciated.

Is it difficult to DIY patch and smooth the walls? Where did you get the plaster (is it what it's supposed to be called?) and how much did it cost you?
