Hi mitlancer, can update us on the carpentry? I didn't get to view their carpentry b4 start work, only tiling. Cos Lynn say designs may not be what we like, but I thought main purpose is to see workmanship... If design same then we're living in cookie cutter Ideal Hse design flats already...

Hi pbtgal...... mine is a "white flat" means not internal walls from HDB. Layout configuration is to individual's liking. Hence, i m retaining the layout from the previous owner i quite fond of......

Hi Mitlancer

ya, i saw it in newspaper, no internal walls and upto owners to decide where the living, bedrooms are etc. Interesting. When are u starting your reno?

Hi Pbtgal,

There are only 24 units in Sin ........ actually there is not much variation for the layout cos the 2 bathrooms are fixed and for sure u will wnt to have a attach bathroom for your MBR..... In the end its quite like the standard layout except u can hv yr MBR bigger .....

Hi Tsubame,

Seen their capentry work at Punggol today..... i must agree that the details of the materials & workmanship r reasonably good and the hinges of the doors are those with soft closer......

Hopefully their works will be consistent for our homes ....... Perhaps we can keep each others posted ......

got a suprised today 1030am, opened door and heard sound of water running in mbr toilet. The water lever was lifted up, shower head exposed rubber spilted and gash of water slashing out, created a water fountain against the shower screen. whole toliet was wet including areas outside toilet.

We knew tat the worker was the last person who left cos we left at 550pm the previous day. cant believed tat water was running for more than 12 hours... :bangwall:

PICT0508-1.jpg

1st reaction, dump bag, keys n measuring tape into common toilet floor.. if i go inside, i be wet, cant do anything but to turn off the main switch outside main door. lucky i got the key with me, if not cant turn it off.

Johnny acknowledge tat the parquet were affected n will monitor n change it if necessary.

now got a couple of opinions:

1) Change the parquet -> Likely to delay your renovation and create a bigger mess...

2) Dry up and restore the parquet by getting drying specialist (such as Munters) to remove the excessive moisture with machines, sand and re-varnish -> Reduce delay to renovation

3) Report to AIG (Under HDB Fire insurance) since parquet and door provided by HDB and seek their advice (can get contact of drying specialist from them)

4) Discuss with your ID who to foot the bill.

If want to restore and save the parquet, must react first, but now is monitor first.

dunno how much water they've absorbed already

I dun know wat johnny will use at the moment.
