Another wk of renovation!

Some renovation pics dated 05 Nov.

1.

My round false ceiling almost done! Lightings will be crystal lights (central area) + something else (2nd circle). ID suggested rope lights but wifey and I haven't confirm. Was thinking of having the option of 2 color of rope lights (white and yellow). Cannot visualize, really need drawings.

This is the false ceiling along the storeroom. Carpentry wise will be constructing display cabinets and a area/top for a desktop. Design not confirm at all. Whether the cabinets will follow the wavy false ceiling also haven't confirm - waiting for revised quotation. Taking one step at a time.

3. Round walkway

Wifey and I decided to have 1 entrance. Somehow, the feel of walking along the walkway is better. The round living room is actually bigger in the initial design. But on site, ID decided to make it abit smaller to create a small gap in between the walls. This will help introduce some lights into the walkway to prevent it from becoming a dead space. At the same time, the size of the rooms seems to be less affected. And for the gap, will be customising a glass screen with designs on it. If pocket is limitless, can use stained glass I think, even more beautiful! Who wants to contribute to make my home sui sui! Hahahah. Will also have a big display item here. Stay tune. Hehe. For the walkway, will be hanging photo frames! Wifey and I love taking pics together. Hee.

4. Curvature False ceiling for kitchen too.

As living areas have round and wavy false ceilings, ID suggested a curvature one for the kitchen too. This helps to define the shape of the dining table too.

While looking around the house, saw something and not a gd one:

Initially we wanted to make new doors, but ID think it is fine to use back the old ones, just need to touch up on the doors to fit it into the theme. If you see the pic, u see some long scratches/cuts... tried rubbing it thinking it is dust but not. Hopefully this will be taken care of too. If not.... my wifey will scream!

Initially told ID to keep the doors in the storeroom in case not making new ones and I saw in the floorplan that ID written and instructed the workers to do so, but the workers didn't follow. So how. Let's see how it goes.

To end on something gd, ordered something and collected it today! We saw something during our holiday last yr but didn't buy previously because it is too troublesome and huge to buy and bring it back to Singapore. Then we saw a shop selling this particular collection and asked whether they have this for sales or not. To our surprise, they are bringing it in. We reserved one and collected it today!

What is it? Hehe. It is a display item. I will reveal it true form in time to come. Hee.

Will try to upload some renovation pics soon. Schedule abit delay because unable to install air con this week. Gain City is only able to provide a slot on the 11 Nov. Anyway, I am in no rush. But if the house can be ready by Christmas, wifey and I will be very happy.

Had a gd talk and discussion with ID last weekend. Was a very fruitful one. Everyone is happy.

Last Sun we had to make many decisions on site also. Also saw a rough drawing for the kitchen are and dining table. And wifey is pretty happy cos the new dining table is what she prefer compare to the initial one. Sharp edge treatment applied to table! Design pretty much like those european kitchen designs. Check this out - one of wifey's favourite website is http://www.trendir.com. And the design finishes with ID's trademark, a rounded edge follow by a slant to the ground - err, my description not very clear maybe, ha. Maybe the pics will help. I also love the table... because it looks like a casino table to me! Haha.

The amendments to the designs are indeed better. Only bad point is we have to change the tiles in the round living room. And might not really be a bad thing cos wifey initially wanted to change but limited budget. Manage to cut some cost to change the floor tiles now. ID suggest quartz ($40+ for the cheaper ones, $80+ for the gd ones!). Wifey happy but pocket not happy. Haven't decide, will see how. But high chance not using.

Sun also went Soon Bee Huat to select a new tile for our 'outdoor garden'. Initial selected one out of stock at Hafary. Want to mention something also. The tiles for this area... ID gave it to us FREE!

And we also saw a tile (very shimmering) which is quite nice if we are not using quartz.

Gd afternoon Rasp. Design fits the criterias on what we want. We didn't design it, only gave some mild inputs to ID only. ID is more influenced by European design style I believe. The dining table will become a casino table during CNY. Lol. IRs have casino tables, I also have one at hm. Hhaha. Only issue is deciding on the material, solid surface (more costly) or laminate (cheaper). Previous quotation we received is using laminate. ID will let us know the cost for using solid surface. My wifey prefer solid surface.

Wanted to highlight to ID today but yesterday inform me he is not free to meet up today becos his project in another country need immediate attention (hiccups I suppose). He was suppose to go shopping with us on bathroom accessories today. And show us drawings - wifey have been waiting for this! He didn't really draw in details previously becos on site many things might change. Instead of drawing something super beautiful and later tell u cannot be done, he opt not to draw first.

Anyway, it okie. We will go see see first. Hopefully the scratches/cuts are not a big problem. As long as it is not so visible after rectification can liao. Actually, want to take our minds off reno for this wk, have been spending too much time on it and neglecting other stuffs.

Thanks Chinchye. Reno progressing abit slower this wk. Air-con will be up tomorrow. Other than that, I also don't know where we are at the reno stage. Ha. Next up should be finalising the design (the finer details) I believe. Will post new pics in due course.
