Hello everybody

This is the old question which has been discuss before.

Just to bring it up again for your comments.

1) Did anybody drill 3 holes (Bottom) at the main door kerb area? What is your contractor comment?

2) Did anybody see how your electrician install sockets on the wall?

They hammer the screw into the wall or screw it in? Please comments.

HAPPY

i had my holes in the tiles. but with metal spring mechanism type of plug placed in to prevent dust collection.

they should drill and insert wall plug b4 screwing. hammering is the easy way out. However, not much difference if its into wall. you normally wouldnt be able to pull the socket out in the event of jammed plug.

But if the 13A point is to be on timber or MDF board or gypsum board, insist on wall plugs and screwing!

But the grib will not be that strong right? Especially when install the ceiling lights where they just hammer the screw into the wall. Over time, it might get loose and fall off.

Yeah, they drill, insert the washer and then hammer the screw in. That is cheating. What if I want to change the socket? I will be unable to screw out the screw as it is already damage.

Anyone here did their door bell???? I got a free wireless door bell from the lighting shop, but of no use, cos we already have our own door bell button given free by HDB.. Where to get the doorbell suitable for our home?
