1 pointyes. after wet works done. Basic electrical work done. Then it's painting first. Light installation. then remove out everything. chemical wash. then carpentry comes in. After that then is touch up of paint etc especially over places u spot defects or kana some plaster, silicone or what not. Makes sense mah, ceiling and most of the walls painted when cardboard still there and chemical wash not done yet.

1 pointToday took leave because my dining table and tv console from Scanteak is coming and the mirrors for the bathroom are being installed. Here is the mirrors being installed by the guys from ITTIBAA GLAZING ENTERPRISE Pte Ltd (http://www.framesandglass.com) The glue takes about 2 days to solidify and I was told not to remove the wooden support before then. The mirrors themselves were ordinary mirrors. I know some people say that after awhile, the glue will cause black patch on the mirror from behind. But in this case, there is a layer of laminate applied at the back of the mirrors specifically to prevent this "unwanted effect" from taking place. Total damage for the 2 x mirrors was around $470, which I thought was reasonable give their size.

1 pointI used the more 'atas' Peeka. Haha....heard the rates is more expensive, but their system is very easy to use, dunnid to call up anyone de. dunnid tutorial also. You go their site register account then you know how to use liao... Think not cost efficient if you buying big bulky stuff though coz their 1 cubic meter I think is S$250 charge (sea freight). I have only gotten small stuff, didn't hit anywhere near 1 cbm. and hor....taobao also has bedsheets....whahhaha....Tencel is '天丝' . Beware there is different types for the mattress cover. Fitted sheet (elastic all around the mattress cover or at 4 corners= 床笠), flat sheet (one flat piece of cloth) = 床单. Another thing to note is China don't have bolster covers in their sets.
-
1 pointTrue lah, I already pampered myself with a $999 matress liao.... But still.... got a heart attack when I see bedsheet also cost so much. lol Anyway, which ever I buy will consider upgrade liao from pasar malam. lol Please share here if there's any SALE around lol

1 pointYou also met them? Haha maybe my clues tooo obvious eh? ya.. maybe still new in this industry.. and I feel that their package is quite good deal if not looking for too complex or unique designs.. but I not to my likings. Thanks eelnaes.. im also looking for to see outcome. Can't wait!! Status update: signed the contract with ID#6. Before we signed the contract, he went through each item one by one again. Made sure we have no further questions and proceed to sign.. Little discussion on types of lightings he recommends us to get. I will be going to a lighting shop this sat to source for pricing. He tells us that if he tag along the prices will be different. So ask us to go get pricing first. And meeting next fri 11/04 to another shop he frequently buy from. And compare prices. Den after that will go and buy together.. Set another meeting date on 20th april to view 3D drawings.. if the 3d is ready earlier, he will let me know too.. excited!!

1 pointHi, I added some essentials along the way so final damage is $17.5k, including window for SY, window grilles for entire house and painting. I will not be sharing breakdown anymore as it seemed unfair to my ID that some forumers were asking them for 13k but with many more add ons. Major Renovation works : Renzz - Hacking of kitchen wall & tilling of remaining hacked wall - Laminate flooring for whole house - Installation of kitchen & bathroom accessories - Kitchen & 1 x bathroom carpentry - 10ft tempered backsplash for kitchen - shower screen with door for bathroom - kitchen base + shower kerbs - full wall length mirror for bath - whole house window grille ($1.1K) - electrical wiring $1.8K (because I have so many lighting in the house) Subtotal: $15.9K engaged others... - service yard windows ($780) -- another contractor (My ID said he cud give me @ $600 .. boohoo) - Painting $850 (another contractor) -- ID quoted $1.5K @_@ Total damage : $17.5K Hope this helps! Henceforth, I will only share ID contact but not my quotation. Thank you all for following me on this short reno journey liking my simple reno. Next few posts will be my agonising furnishing journey.

1 pointHey! I emailed Dulux Customer Service to check about the issue about touching up any Wash-and-Wear paint... This was their reply: "For your information Dulux Wash & Wear is a low sheen finish paint and Dulux Pentalite is a matt finish paint. The difference in touching up with a low sheen finish and matt finish paint - you will notice the touch up patches when using a higher sheen finish paint to touch up as compared to when using a matt finish paint. This is due to the soft glossy sheen level." I believe we have come to a conclusion, we are going to just select Dulux Pentalite!!

1 pointHi SuperMama, Kindly advise if you managed to keep within your budget which I believe is around SGD13K. About to send the quotation and contact of ID to me for reference? Thanks in advance...
-
1 pointhi SuperMama, i like your style.. Mind sharing your quotation from Renzz and hows your experience with them?
-
1 pointFor those glossy type, it will have 2 different color tones when repaint thus you cannot touchup type. For matte kind, you will not have this issue but only limited choices ...

1 pointCame home to await delivery of the first batch of items from Taobao. Man, I must say I am truly satisfied with random checks of the items. The loot http:// In anticipation of questions via PM, I am writing this now: For those interested, please contact the following: Amcon Express 68441911 Ms May Ho The best way is to order directly from Taobao. But in order to order directly, you will need a Taobao account. To create a Taobao account, you will need the following: 1. China contact number 2. China contact person 3. China delivery address + "c/o <<YOUR NAME>>" The above will be provided by Amcon via email. They will also provide a worksheet for you to fill in your purchase details. Then pay with your local credit card to the sellers direct. Do note the prices stated on Taobao have not included their courier charges (if any) to the warehouse yet. Usually it's only a few / a few tens of Chinese Yuan. Alipay (the payment portal) will charge you a 3% processing fees. Then send your worksheet to Amcon via email. Do also let Amcon know the tracking number provided by the seller after they have couriered out the goods. Please note that Amcon will not inspect the items for you. For example,, if you order 5 items from the same seller in one single payment transaction, your goods will be packed in 1 carton if possible. This will be the unopened carton box that will be sent to your Singapore address. This carton will have a tracking number. This is the tracking number you have to provide to Amcon. You can request Amcon to ship to you your partial orders if you need them urgently, but if they do not add up to a cubic metre, you still have to pay the minimum charge of 1 cubic metre. Refer to my first picture above. Those 11 cartons only took up less than 85% of a cubic metre! Knowledge of the Chinese language is a pre-requisite to shop on Taobao. Tips: 1. Shop and compare prices. They should vary around 5 to 10% between sellers. If a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is. Give it a miss. 2. If you find any itmes you like, put them in the shopping cart first. Don't buy impulsely. 3. After I selected an item, I will enter the seller's shop to look at the rest of his goods. Sometimes you may find other useful related stuff here. And sometimes you may find the same things here that you have shortlisted at other sellers. Try to minimise the number of sellers. Save on courier charges. 4. I wait another 1 to 2 days to see if I need to order anymore items before I make payment. Pay for all the items within a 3-day period. This way, all your items will arrive at the warehouse at around the same time, plus/minus a few days. It makes consolidation easier for the warehouse. 5. Check the detail measurements of the items. 6. Sometimes it's worthwhile spending a bit more on quality items. For example, I only chose 304 stainless steel-made items for all my bathroom accessories and fittings. They cost 3 times more than the alloy ones, but I think they are still way cheaper if you get 304 ss bathroom items locally. 7. Shopping at Taobao can be addictive. Don't overindulge just because it is so so so cheap.. Happy shopping.

1 pointHope you love your sink as I do! I have bought Kraus 23 inch Undermount Kitchen Sink.
-
1 pointYou can undermount a topmount sink but it will not be a perfect fit. There will be a larger gap between the sink and the bottom of the counter-top. This is because the edge of the sink was not designed for undermounting. A sink specially designed for undermounting will have a flat edge which will fit nicely to the bottom of the countertop. Normally, this type of sink cannot be topmount as it is not suitable. Anyway this is like asking whether all mushrooms can be eaten. The answer is yes. Just that some of them you can only eat once.

1 pointOne of my friend just told me that MBR door should not face bathroom door due to FengShui. Does anyone know about this and can share ? Please advise !!
