S$250 is daylight robbery, just get the chemical yourself and you can it yourself, no need depend on these contractors You can get the chemical called HCL89. I usually get it from http://hcl89.byethost10.com or http://hcl89.atwebpages.com What it does is that it cleans your wall tiles/glass and also helps to create a protection for it so that always remains new. Hope this helps you out

If pure latex rubber gasket should have no issue unless its synthetic rubber type, in any case just use making tape cover it like what i did and remove when done

Contractors have private ones and HDB ones. There are so many out there and one does not assume that doing door knocking is confirm to be scam. If anyone wants to scam, the person won't be contactable or have any contact details for you to search. Haha.. Call on police without proof?!.. People also just making a living, not scamming people...

I've done up a rough calculation and here's a update on the total cost for my whole reno. Initial Reno quote - $19k (excluding electrical point cost) Final Reno quote - $22,020.00 (Including electrical cost, added tv console and misc stuff) No matter how careful or detail you are, things will be missed out, hence it's best to give yourself some buffer, if you're on a tight budget like me. Furniture - $14,800 (Aircon, fridge, sofa, tv, ceiling fan, misc ect) I was like 7-8k off estimation for this part.. haha.. many items missed out or end up paying more than my targeted budget. Total cost - $36,800 It was quite close to my budget, probably overshot by a few k. Hope it can be of a little guidance to help you do your budgeting. Have been living in for a few weeks now, everything is good. Love the big fridge! Spend 1.4k on that fridge, could have easily gotten a 2 door under $900, probably 1 of the few items that i insisted I want to have XD Overall, I feel it's a nice experience, wouldn't mind doing it again lol

Hi All, My wife and me are comparing 2 different units in the same building. Both are 3A model, around 73 sqm. But first one is totally no renovation at all, its purely empty inside, the second one has renovation and price is 25K higher than first. We prefer the first one as give us more freedom for renovation. But just unsure about the reno cost. Can anyone help us by estimate a cost of below works. Living room & 2 bedrooms Overlay engineered floor on existing one. Kitchen Cupboard around 3-4m long, hack all wall tile and floor tile, redo, change refuse chute. 2 toilets Basically hack all and redo, except water pipes as upgraded during HIP. Whole unit Change main door, 2 bedroom door, store room door, add kitchen sliding door. Re-route whole unit's electrical wiring. Lighting, switch and socket all change new. Wall painting whole unit. Can anyone help to estimate if above works can be done ard 20-25K. All tiles and cupboard assume using normal one, and those popular among others. This is our first time to buy a house and totally no experience on renovation. Thank you very much!
