  1. Nippon better or ICI? Anyone got any feedback?
  2. haha you guys go buy...then share whether good or not... paiseh for using you guys as guinea pig...
  3. haha same...need to read slowly to understand
  4. Just want to ask, what you guys do to soundproof the media room? Did you use acoustic panels or simply just put some eggshell covers (not sure the actual name) Or are there better stuff?
  5. Granite would leave a water stain. I think you can ask for the granite to be sealed, which should prevent this from happening. I personally don't like granite, cause the colours are quite limited.
  6. LIKE! True words...I would click a like button if there's one. Haha, very seldom see a parent will read son's blog...most wouldn't care or know...
  7. Don't just look at price only. Ask to go to one of their jobsites to see the quality of work done. Also, it helps to check licenses. Have license / accreditation better than nothing. Most important, see if you can "gum" with the ID or not. If got communication problem, how cheap also no use. Just my 2 cents
  8. Yeah, Granite does absorb water easily. Maintenance wise, it is not that hard to maintain. Try google for cleaning products that are meant for granite floors, there are lots. 12 year old should be still useable. Just IMHO
  9. Haha, I got the same opinion here. Royal Franco is really not bad. Worth a look even though the showroom may not be very power
  10. Can try this company, Lemoncool Aircon. Go google the name. Quite reliable and cheap.
  11. Not sure about the first option, but the second one seems dubious to me. Isn't that like cheating? No offence meant please
  12. Your quote is vague, maybe can provide floor plan to see? Carpentry is quite ex btw. Hacking and haulage also a bit ex for only 2 toilets, 1 kitchen. Can also try to ask for more FOC for standard stuff like floor protection, install sink and basin.
  13. Hi, the really big companies, maybe some are public listed, will need to charge GST. Law says you gotta charge GST if your revenue reaches $1 million bucks. The medium to small ones usually don't charge GST. So the no GST thing become sort of a selling point... Since most IDs in Singapore are not that big, so, yeah, most IDs don't charge GST. But to be honest, those who don't charge GST would probably make up by rising price into your quotation. After all, no free lunch right? Hope it helps
  14. Wah! Really have a lot of stuff. Even the photos are annotated. Have video some more. Can be pro blogger liao. Great job bro!
  15. Hi shawn, can share your ID? I pm-ed you. Btw, I think almost all the ID firms have no GST. Some even go set up another "sister" company to avoid charging GST, so that people cannot lowball them.
  16. Hi Alicia, I replied to your pm. Hope that helps you out
  17. Thanks Soichiro Will call up HDB to ask the officer. Maybe next monday because of OT.
  18. Hi, you can refer to this thread by Zhiz. I find it immensely useful. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24479 Another resource that I would like to share is this renovation calculator. Very useful in helping you figure out how much more your ID is charging. http://www.thehomelook.com/resources/calculators/calculator-renovation-cost.php Good luck!
  19. So what's the rule of thumb here? Resale Flat = Hack and Relay and New Flat = Overlay Am I correct?
