  1. Brilliant Source Lighting @ Joo Chiat: great service, friendly Boss, lotsa free advice & prices look not bad too. Here's what we have shortlisted & have to decide for our living room downlights: Brilliant Source Lighting by Makanology, on Flickr Brilliant Source Lighting by Makanology, on Flickr
  2. Today took a day off to check out some lighting & ikea. Went to Brilliant Source @ Joo Chiat and ate Fei Fei wanton mee there: Fei Fei Wanton Mee by Makanology, on Flickr True to what Bleucheeze told me, standard has dropped. But noodle texture & soup still ok. Mr E said this handmade noodle would go better to eat as soup wanton mee but siao! Eating soup noodles in the middle of the day is simply suicidal! Their fried wantan is quite decent also; managed to capture a pix of the last one Fei Fei fried wanton by Makanology, on Flickr
  3. Have been kinda busy at work (company undergoing rebranding), preparation for our ROM and renovation. Wish I have more hours daily to do more! Renovation is so tiring, physically & mentally! Initially we have wanted to go to JB to hunt for stuff so never managed to find the time at all. And our craftbricks are still at our cousin's place so will have to find time to bring them back bit by bit. Another cousin who got really enthusiastic with our renovation bought us this: Bakelite switches by Makanology, on Flickr Trouble is, they are made in china and we are skeptical if they will be sturdy. We have 20 pcs and will keep some for our own use.
  4. U bought Craftstone and craft bricks? Wow, didn't know Craftstone is that bulky. Suggest you invest in a trolley - it helps! I borrowed from my office and now seriously thinking of buying one for ourselves!
  5. You are using the same Alan that many forumers are using? Your house seems to progress quite well!
  6. Scanteak Star Vista is having a grand opening sale this weekend with 15% off store wide. Also saw them having promotion on selected bookcases but limited pieces (or rather early bird specials). You can check it out!
  7. Hmmm prioritize your carpentry. Do those that you die die need first.
  8. We took a bank loan too and notified the bank's appointed lawyer about our case. She is really nice; she talked to the HDB officer and tried their best to help us to find out what we can do. Since you are taking a bank loan, you can seek advice from the lawyer processing the loan and resale documents for you.
  9. Yes it is rather far! Where did you ask Craftstone to send the bricks to? We told them to send to our cousin in JB and then we bring a few cartons bit by bit. My dad tried to ferry back 2 cartons last week and was stopped at the customs but luckily never kena any GST (which can't be cos less than $400) or trouble from the customs officer!
  10. I think after renovation, all of us can graduate with honors in renovation & coordination
  11. It is so challenging to arrange the transportation between JB and S'pore right? We were sourcing for a logistics company (S'pore & M'sia) before for our craft bricks, but none bothered to entertain us. So we decide to lug back the 10 cartons bit by bit ourselves (3 trips).
  12. I am sorry to hear about your plight. Just a month ago, we faced a similar situation with our dishonest seller. Are you taking a HDB loan or bank loan? If it is the former, usually HDB will want to complete the whole transaction as soon as possible eg 5-6 weeks. I suggest don't alert the seller now, go for the 1st appointment and sign the papers. Cos after the 1st appointment, the seller can't back out & have to die die sell already. Standby your agent to fight for you to push for an earlier 2nd appointment. Hold back your agency's commission also till you have seen your agent really putting his best to help you. You can also consult your assigned HDB officer and pre-empt him/her. Not sure if HDB will help but it is usually their policy not to interfere.
  13. Your WIW is taking shape and I can see your 12 or 18ft wardrobe? I am so envious of the amount of space you have in your WIW
  14. What did u use to ship your Kohler? Vpost or Amazon shipped directly to you? And finally see your tofu tiled island. And your peranakan flooring! Not bad; can't wait to see your orange laminated cabinets!
  15. Some parts of your place still look good like the master bathroom. Keeping or hacking?
  16. I know what you mean! We can't stop comparing TB prices with the stuff we have seen here. It really is great in cost saving though not sure if our shipment will be smooth? Who are you using? 65daigou or Peeka or Amcon?
  17. Dragonnite, thanks for your amazing tips! Very good advice to plan the pots stuff for 1-2 pax
  18. I think it is nice to have pops of colors in the house and like you, we kinda locked in red but for living room only, green for kitchen, pink for MBR and probably yellow for our common room. This will be either accent, furniture or appliance. So long you like it, then your house will be beautiful
  19. Your cat loves to be photographed? He/She seems to be in most shots And my Mom's dog loves to sit in luggage & open bags too!
  20. The stapled storeroom door looks like gypsum board material which is a much lower quality. Better check with ID ASAP. Gypsum board is made from sawdust & plaster.
  21. Hi HappyAng, thanks for sharing and the link for your Philips downlights. What type of bulbs do they use - GU10, E14 or E27? Do their installation requires you to add in external transformers or drivers also?
