Ceiling Fan: Minka Aire Cirque Or Sycamore Fan
keltong replied to kastlekonfusion's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Wow..these fans looks **** good. -
I got mine from Palace of Lights at Balestier. Mine is 52" Amasco coz I've got 3 in living/dining area. 2 in living and 1 in dining. I need fan+light and went for wooden coz it look nice, no need separate fan speed control. We wanted ceiling fan coz we dun want a space to put standing fan. All are rooms have ceiling fans too coz too small to put standing fan, and dun like wall mount fan. But I do have friends who simply dun like the idea of ceiling fan. We are quite comfortable with it coz already have ceiling fan in old house.

Ya, my experience is same as applefreak, I have been using it when I am DIYing stuff in my new house, and even though I do not stand directly under the fan, I can feel the breeze. So far so good (touch wood).

Yeah, got a string to pull it up. I choose the stainless steel type cost dun want wait the coating came off later. I use using it for 2yrs+ before I sold the house, no problem with it, didn't get stuck of anything.

I'm going for a mix of shiny surface and texture surface for my cabinet this time. It will be up this few days, not sure what to expect as it is completely different from our last kitchen (which we love). Decided to go with a different look this time. Maybe we can share cleaning ideas next time if you are using texture too Out of the 4 laminates you listed, I like Jamaica Teak for it's color and grain. If you prefer something dark and what I feel a more sophisticated look, Choc Oregon Teak looks good.

Hmm...so such precise day for price increase one meh? I think it depends on each company's policy, whether to increase, to absorb, or to do forward pricing. That is how I feel.

Err...just sharing what I am doing. I am not very good at these things and I lazy to find (physically), googled around and found monoprice.com sells decent cables at good price. I was looking for HDMI cables initially and CNET mentioned they use monoprice.com HDMI cable on their high end system (for review) and find that it works just as good. So I took the plunge to order from them. And decided to order all my cable requirements from them. They will be shipping to me via UPS expedite. The speaker cable I bought the 50ft one, and including shipping (if I avg out the shipping cost) will cost me probably in the region of S$36. The 6ft HDMI will cost me in the region of $14 each. And I did buy many other cables. For the bracket, I may be trying to get those from ebay. Narrowed down to a few and may make my decision this few days. Some are from UK, some from USA. On average will cost me S$40+ (including shipping) for 1 set of 2 wall/ceiling mount bracket.

I believe you can engage Goodrich just for labour to fix up the wallpaper. My brother usually imports the wallpaper himself and get them to do the installation. Same for my house, he pass me his wallpaper and got them to install.

Seems like not many 'northlanders' so I mention some food I like up north. Chong Pang Market - Lao Chong Pang Wu Xiang, very nice, usually fried until just nice, but if go late got to wait for a long time. Chong Pang Nasi Lemak along Sembawang Road (just before the ADSD camp) - starts I think late afternoon till very late at nice, lots of dishes to choose from, like the mei ren yu, the chicken wing, the fish fillet, among others. Cha Bee Hoon opp the Chong Pang are 7-eleven (famous Toto place). Also got quite a lot of dishes, coz usually crowded so things are kept fresh and hot. The bee hoon also very nice. Taste of Thailand - Used to be at Sembawang Shopping Centre, from food court to their own restaurant. Now at Yishun Industrial are food centre, can see along the road. More zhi cha style with some Thai dishes, have eaten for more than 15yrs liao (maybe even 20yrs) and food is still as good, place is still as crowded, and price is still the same! Cheaper than coffee shop zhi cha and food is yummy. Muz try the san wei yu, fried cuttle fish. Honey chicken is good for kids, tom yam soup is not bad, fried kang kong is nice too.

I will just be using a trunking for the cables. Intend to 'fully load' the cables than pull all inside my TV console so don't have to worry about plugging in somemore cables latter on. Want to use those wide (but hopefully not thick) trunking. Paste over my wallpaper on the trunking and hopefully that will be enough to 'hide'.

I did for my 131sqm EA. 2 panel in all 4 rooms. 2 panel in kitchen, 1 panel at a/c ledge, 2 panel + window for service balcony. Also include wrought iron semi circle for balcony. Slight less than 1.7K. Job is not bad, uncle who came is long winded but gave quite good advise. Paisei, just saw your post. Yes, chose the long winded uncle from Wellmax, name is Eric. The workmanship seems not bad, but have not really 'test' it out yet.
