  4. Hello, has anyone engaged third avenue studio for their ID works? Their photos look good, but can't seem to find information on them here. Would appreciate reviews!
  5. Hi there ! As the title says I don't normally recommend services publicly, but I feel this firm I've dealt with could save some homes as it did mine My fiance found this guy (an interior designer) from his extended group of friends while out at the pubs one night (Not a great start to the story hah !), anyway we moved into our new condo about 5 months later. Did our rounds and got quotations from afew firms, thought we'd give our new "friend" a try as well. He gave us probably one of the best quotations out of those we'd already gotten. A main selling point for us was that this was a long-standing family business and it's being run by a son/dad combo, we're adamant that family businesses do very good work or else they wouldn't be around for that long. Other factors that led to our decision was his wide portfolio of projects, modern outlook and clean workmanship. We got to work, and although our friend wasn't free to meet for the most part, the employee he hooked us up with was extremely insightful and cautioned us on certain decisions, even showed us some of the current trendy layouts. We ended up realising our vision didn't feel as modern as the current trend so we took most from his portfolios haha. So all was well and his workmanship was excellent, the part that really threw me into recommending his services was that he took it upon himself and his firm's contractors to fix some minor existing problems in the condominium and when we asked him how much these fixes costed, he didn't change his quote and merely laughed it off saying "That's what full package means ! Don't worry about it". The least I could do to repay this good service is to share it with the community, to be fair he did say "if you have any friends who need, must say me okay ?". Would be very glad to share his contact and save some other people's homes too haha !

  9. Recently I came across a FB page about this company D'ONE Service (I like their Company Name Which say's DONE) while sourcing for some home accessories. Thought can share on this platform (fb.me/doneservicellp) They help people to do sourcing and customization. Was very surprised that such a company do exist in Singapore. Their service are pretty fast. Takes only 2 days to sourced the items which I need and at reasonable price. Talk to this guy call Eric. He told me as a sourcing agent, their company not only doing sourcing but alot more than I can think of. Will see what else that my company or myself need. Will talk to this guy again. I hope to share more findings on other matters to you folks. Cheers!

  14. Hi! We’re looking for a HDB flat/Private Residence to film in for an upcoming commercial that will be aired in Singapore. Preferably a 1st floor (or low floor), 3-5 room flat which is empty. If it’s furnished, we would gladly move everything out to storage and put everything back when the shoot is done. The shoot will take place for about 2 weeks between mid June to early July. We will also provide a fee to use the apartment, up to $350 per day if selected. We will also be looking at Interior designers that could provide assistance in building props for the house. Interested parties, please feel free to drop me an email at jake.lee@smallshop.sg with details of the flat, and we’ll get in contact to arrange for viewing of the house. Should you require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! Kind Regards, Jake Lee | Producer Smallshop Communications Pte Ltd 46 Kim Yam Road, #03-24 The Herencia Singapore 239351 O: +65 6385 8826 M: +65 9431 9661 E: jake.lee@smallshop.sg
  15. Just to share my experience. I've just moved into my newly renovated (resale) flat 3 months ago. The ID I engaged is very responsible & knowledgeable on the renovation details. As we've no idea on the theme we wanted, he provided us the ideas & recommendation that make our house very cozy & nice-looking, and meet our preference & requirement. He's also able to point out the concerns & provide better alternatives for some of our ideas which we thought it's better. At the end of the renovation, it's proven that his ideas are much better than our original thinking. Glad that we chose to listen to his advices. And, because of false promise from the flat seller (promised early move out for us to start renovation earlier), we ran short of time for the renovation. Also, we've made last-minute decision on the scale of the renovation (at first worried about budget but finally decided to do everything at one go). All these problems were resolved by my ID & we managed to move in according to our original scheduled time. Best of all, quality of the renovation is not compromised. And even now, 3 months after renovation completed & moved in, my ID is still very helpful whenever I met some minor problems & solve the problems free of charge. Do let me know if anyone is interested. I can pass you his contact & you can get the consultation & quotation from him free of charge.

  18. Hi, I have engaged an interior designer to work on my new home. This designer was from a reputable design house in the east and has been in the industry for quite some time. They are always in Singapore expo during furniture fair. The prior experience has been positive and things can always be worked out, until we have signed on the line. For a home reno, the first step is to get the electrician to do up the necessary lighting points. I gave the ID free play on the design, lighting etc. To save him some trouble, I even agreed to use his electrician, if the ballpark price he offered was 3K plus. When the electrician came down, he looked through and gave a quote of 5K, which is after a discount of $4XX dollars. To make matters worst, I asked for a quotation and the pricing in the quotation was wrong. This made me hunt for another electrician for a second opinion. The second electrician price quoted was at least SGD 1K difference. Out of due respect, I decided to offer the quote to the ID and his appointed contractor. I offered 4K max sum. But they did not give in. Now the ID said that if I were to get the third party electrician, he will not warrant the damages to the flooring, carpentry, walls etc in the cause of renovation as these damages maybe caused by the electrician. The whatsapp message was very threatening, in my opinion. Any suggestions on what I can do?
  19. Hi all, Anyone engages the services of WEDA StudioInc. before? The ID made a cold call and we just had an first appointment with them. I had never engaged an ID before. Just asking if anyone had experience with this ID. Thanks!
  20. I had sign up with A&D for my 5rm resale flat renovation and my ID is Elijah Yeo Renovation completed for almost 1 month and I'm very satisfied with the work done, some minor rectification that need to be done are done. Elijah was punctual for all our meetings. He kept his promises and knowing that we had to get the renovation done quickly, he went all out to help us achieve this. We were away for a week and he made sure that work was done properly while we were away. He's very easy to work with and helpful - he volunteered to wait for the delivery of our equipment eventhough it's not his job. When we texted him at 10 plus at night on a weekend, he even called us back to give us feedback. Afterall, the job was done so smoothly and without any fuss.
  21. hello all, i'm new to this as introduced by my friend to this forum. as i will be shifting into a resale towards the end of the year or in jan 2016 would like to know if there's anyway i can get a floor plan? the owner who passed me their original is decades old already. also, would be glad for a head start on what i can look out for and how long should i plan in advance to look for my contractor or ID... my concern is hidden costs if i were to sign an ID before getting my keys as to a few horror stories i've heard from friends.. or should i wait till i get my keys? to get a accurate quotation... heard a lot of extra costs esp for resale. kindly advise... thanks
