the highlight of today - our furniture!

our custom teakwood furniture from ethnic moods has arrived! love them to bits... the couple which we bought them from are also really nice people :)

they made the effort to be around during furniture delivery so as to be able to touch up any defects on the spot, and fix any problems with the furniture. also promised us they would come back after hari raya with their carpenter to do some additions to the sofa to make it sturdier, cos we told them the backing seemed abit shaky.

thru' out the quotation, order processing time, response was also fast and efficient tho' they're actually based in malaysia :thumbs up:

Fwah ! Sweeee !

Must be very costly right those teak furniture ? :)

thanks forkie  we like the furniture very much too.

teak is costlier than some materials used in furniture, but got it cos we like the feel of it, and it matches the theme both of us like, and r trying to create.

customization of such teakwood furniture in singapore with the dimensions we want would have been must costlier, esp with the hubby's request to have strong, sturdy and tough looking legs for his dining table and sofas. so... both of us feel its money well-spent!

Hi beany,

Good to see your place all up. You guys really love teak furnitures. Almost everything in teak. hee.. The shoe cabinet feature wall also seems to match the teak furniture colour too. Hee.. :thumbs up:

My carpentry will be up next week and will be polishing the mbr floor first as we are using pole system for our wiw area. Very worried about deep scratches during carpentry. My hb will be there to monitor but still cant help to worry. By the way, where's the scratch? Are they at those very 'eye-catching' place? Maybe see if can put something over it to cover. A teak furniture/ rag / carpet etc... Hope your id can come up with some good resolutions for your side.

hey rasp, scratches below... these r just a few of the many around, haiz.

those in the mbr and spare room are really... 心痛。we'll take pics of them later when we go n continue our cleaning project.

scratches which can be removed by polishing r only hairline ones... anything deeper than that... they're here to stay. the marble guys who were up did try to remove some, painstakingly used sandpaper to grind, then the machine to buff the floor, but it didn't work. so these white glaring streaks across our tiles... they're going to share our space permanently. welcome to bishan :(

beany, could you place some furniture there to cover it? at least wont feel so heart pain...

hi moomoo, yeah, some, or rather two-thirds of the scratches, we should be able to cover them up with the furniture and stuff, except those in the mbr, haha. such an irony rite?

granted, the quality of the marble might not have been the best to begin with, previous owners would have caused a reasonable amt of chinks to it too; but our gripe is tt proper care wasn't due the marble during reno. the pic below r fm the 1st day... the hacked stuff were strewn all over the marble flooring... *faint*

we have already brought this point up to our ID; let's see what he will suggest... maybe taking out the cost of the marble polishing fm the quote?

mbr hacking... the WC on the naked marble flooring... where's my floor protection??
