My dad asked for extra paint but we forgot to ask for tiles also. Must ask.... cos when the workers were clearing we were very blur and forgot all about extra tiles.

ashes.. if it's just painting it's not that bad... that can be done in a day. If there's anything wrong with carpentry, the rectification isn't dirty... but anything else like grouting and stuff you must point out to him quickly otherwise things will get dirty... good luck! mm the dark brown tile you showed above seems to be ok. If you are the sort who would keep your front door open or intend to step on your foyer area with your shoes then try to have darker tiles ba. Then you wouldn't feel the need to keep cleaning your foyer tiles. haha Mine are black so I constantly "lie" to myself that they look so clean. LOL

Wow. I love the decal! I think it gives a very classic feel to the door which would otherwise be a little plain... mm nice nice. It's not that kettles are boring.. just that nice kettles are expensive!

NOT A SINGLE CENT?? lol ya ya last time it was outsourced so my electrical plans with Uncle was VERY VERY weird. If the point is shifted but on the same wall as the old point, I needn't pay for labour. But if it's a brand new point on another wall, I have to pay for labour. All that + the covers cost $2000++ which uncle split half with me so I paid $1000.

Maybe.. but also could be built at two different times as they seem to be of different styles.. but no matter.. as long as they look nice and are in good condition. hehe

1700 to polish marble? wah. mmmm If you don't want, you can lay over marble. It should be quite safe as marble doesn't pop like tiles. You'll save hacking costs then...mm

Not here to offer any proper advice.. but if you had to take legal action against your sellers, you would have to engage lawyers? If you took a bank loan you'll have access to lawyers already. If not, you would have to engage one to take action against your sellers now right? Would you be able to claim your legal fees too? mm

Agreed. When I read about how some IDs deny that it's their workers who spoil the thing or ask the owners to pay when some things have to be changed I always am happy that we got Ah Soon. I've had friends who started off with quotes cheaper than mine but after the ID insists on charging them for every single tiny thing, their ending cost is so much higher than mine. To me, I felt the most of the workers were ok, but I just asked my dad. My dad said some of them weren't good... haha I think my standards are low.

ya it's sad right.. I watch 15 workers trying to build a 8m path near my block for the last 4 months and until now that path is not ready yet. It's amazing how the work can drag. I think this is precisely why Ah Soon is home late every day. Besides meeting people he also goes to the sites to check. I do hope they get more reliable workers soon and they don't have to check so stringently. hahahah I just saw your sentence abt Jason multiplying himself... haha we need Jason and Ah Soon clones!

mm Smallboy.. i think it's not just Ah Soon's men. It's all workers. This is what I call Worker mentality. They just want to get the job done. Boss not around, so they anyhow do. If they are better than that then they will become supervisors... otherwise they will be workers. Anyway they are still paid for a day's work, to most of them... work so hard for what? All renovation will have faults one.. I guess as long as we're not made to bear the cost I'm very happy liao. Just pity Ah Soon who has to bear the cost of their mistakes.

heh see... fondue and gongkia already replied you wor. Ya he just roughly drew out the design for the cabinets at the beginning and quoted me without confirming what I wanted inside. The same for my shoe cabinet. Then when he was going to send to the factory for fabrication then he asked us... we added two drawers inside the shoe cabinets and added for shelves also. Then the full height cabinet in the kitchen we also added shelves and changed the configuration inside a few times... all no charge. MmM There is one of the houses doing suspended right now but I dun rem whose. heh. There IS some kind of cabinet base just that now the cabinet base is much higher and receded. You have to surf ard to see what I mean wor...

when I was looking.. the IDs and contractors all quoted me between $200-$250. Apparently, the glass used for toilet windows a little different and a permit is needed to change it also. so in the end I only changed the glass and not the entire window

Smallboy ... I don't know why it's different.. but when I did my kitchen with Ah Soon, he allowed us to have different number of drawers. We planned different layouts and asked for 5 drawers, 7 drawers he also said ok. But in the end, because my mom wanted it to be 3, he made three. He didn't say he would charge us for more drawers or more shelves. mmm I would like to say.. that at that point, I had not recommended anyone to do their house with Ah Soon yet. So it wasn't an "added benefit" I only started recommending after my carpentry was going to be done.
