Anyone had the locks installed by hanman? Had my installation done and was told that paint chipping from the door isn't considered a flaw in workmanship. The installer told us to touch up the door on our own! True or not?

Hi Interlock,

Based on your website~ if i purchase the lock from you there is no extra charges for transport right?

What would your recommend? Gateman or Samssung?

What is the payment like?

Tks

Hi all, just sharing my frustrations over digital lock (Gateman II) over the last 8 years.

Back in 2003 when we bought our condo, we were quite excited to see a digital lock as it was quite novel at that time. As time goes by, I encountered several "issues" which prompted me to want to change back to the good'ol mechanical one. Firstly, I have to check the batteries constantly, or be mindful of changing the 4 AA-sized batteries whenever the tone sounds. Once we got back from an overseas holiday, we didn't notice the batteries were leaking and continue to use it as nothing wrong. Then suddenly one day, it just died! The replacement cost for Gateman (has to be a newer version, as the old on was obsolete) is >$1k! I can almost change the whole door with that.

I don't know. Perhaps the technology now has become more stable and reliable.

I think the key thing with anything that uses battery is to change it regularly even if it seems like it is still working. Don't wait till it leaks.

Interlock recommended that I change it yearly without fail. Mine still have 8 months to go when the time comes, i will change it w/o a heartbeat. Battery aren't so expensive anymore.
