Your mom very funny!!! haha but so true. mm I think for Uncle to learn computer language it'll be super difficult.. My parents know English but they are still struggling with the computer... worldangel... I'm glad that you made a decision suitable for yourself and that's good cos it probably means you can choose someone who you will really be able to work with and have a happy reno. -

haha She's got a mind of her own. Cannot bring her wherever I want. Stubborn thingy. mm usually HDB the pressure not that strong? have you tried the pressure in your home? Don't think it'll cause a headache la..

HUH change window?? will be very very very dirty leh. Are you sure? have to hack. And yes have to get permit all over again. See what happens after you patch ok? And Ivy's right.. call HDB to come see. Maybe it's really their problem. I think.. I'm the stingiest.. I shouldn't comment on your VO. but the increase in the electrical one is really a lot..

Help! Seller Backing Out On Hand Over Date
pinkpetter replied to Jason Poh's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
YAY congrats that it is resolved peacefully. Well it was their decision to let go of the house and there's nothing you can do about it... at least you offered to help him clear some things.. -
guy77... your idea about the glass is more accurate I guess. I do art with large pieces of glass from time to time and use glass cutters... glass is very strong in the centre areas and would not break if impact is directed there. but if the impact/stress is at the corners or ends, the glass will crack/shatter/break. So we have to position the glass cutter at the side.. just 1cm in and you can break a very broad piece of glass. However if you position the cutter in the centre, the glass won't break. There was a thread.. sometime back in RT... the person warned to check the sides and corners of the glass very carefully. If there are pre-existing hairline cracks along the sides, it might cause the whole thing shatter even with a light bump. I was wondering... what about having a few to guide the door along? not really a full long track but just a few with gaps inbetween?

Not me not me not me... I saw it somewhere in your thread one.. really... not I start one... Run Ivy Run! Totally agree. We're all different in our own ways and are entitled to be different in the things we say. I once vowed that I will no longer act like a mad woman when someone says something different. Looks like that needs a little more training... What a nice objective post. -

Marvin, I completely agree with the first portion of your statement... Just to clear the air.. I don't know about everyone else but for me... I love renovation. If I have the chance I would like to buy a plot of land and build my own house from scratch with my own designs (with advice from professionals of cos) But I'm addicted. And coming to this forum is like a small dream come true. I get the chance to see so many people's beautiful homes being done. I get to see so many houses completely overhauled, like a big magical transformation. haha I'm beginning to sound like a kid but this is what it is for me. Even though my house is done now, I still spend many hours a week collecting pictures and saving them in my hard disk. I have scrapbooks of pictures I cut from magazines from long ago. Aside from that... there is a community here. Not just amongst those who share the same ID/contractor... but amongst us. You, me, AJ,F4,MP, SB, NCY, R, PJ, NY, BC, GK, I.... (haha you all like initials right.. ) It's always nice to belong to some community I guess. To discuss, to share, to chat, to advise and to help. So that's why I'm still here, 6 months after my renovation is done. The second part of your post... made me think.... Which is worse for homeowners? An honest unlicensed contractor or a dishonest licensed one? Despite having so many agencies, HDB, Case, Radac, who seemingly "vet" through these companies, there still seems to be trouble with them. The fact that they accredit these companies gives homeowners a false sense of security when these accrediting agencies do not seem to be doing their part in ensuring that ALL these companies maintain an acceptable level of service and responsibility towards us. HDB gives licenses to these contractors/ID but they don't react when the complaints are made against the companies. I'm sure many of us have read such posts here already. They aren't acting to help us when they played in a part in giving us that false impression that the company is a respectable one. They don't help to ensure that "touting" or "daylight robbery" (literally) is kept out of picture. A beautiful apple with worms inside is far more dangerous than one that looks little bruised on the outside. Fewer people will buy the bruised apple anyway (maybe if it's on major discount *wink*) while people who buy the first one will find themselves shortchanged. I hope in your letter to HDB, you can also ask them to be more stringent with the licensed companies. To have a system for ensuring that standards are maintained and innocent homeowners are better off. I guess, for me, until that happens, I'll probably still buy the bruised apple and make apple strudels out of them. and like AJ. I apologise for my long and lorsoh post. SEE LAH ALL YOUR FAULT! -
yes yes my bunny's a furball. Wah your toilet very nice leh!!! Really very nice. Mm it does seem a little high. however if when it's on and the water doesn't splash out of the area I think it's ok
-
haha read lots of blogs first... Then look up some IDs and get ideas... BUT don't sign with them.. just talk to them and have a feel..., get many quotations.. then you're done with the first step.. mm
-
haha no no no... the blinds are for the current balcony windows. The morning sun is a little bad and my bunny gets baked. My mom figured that if we don't wish to have roasted bunny soon we'd better do something about it. So timber blinds! They were here to measure the window in the afternoon.. heheh WHOOHOO not sure yet leh. I will wait for letter to come before i can ask Uncle..

She gets to get out twice a day for a few hours... exercise, explore a bit... she supervise my mom wash clothes. She will lie in the corner and watch. Then when I call her to go home, she will hide behind my dad's bicycle wheel and hope we cannot see her.

I like the marble tiles! I think it'll really add to your hotel look. As for the dresser.. looks good.. but your mirror can touch the table top.. and then you have the sockets at the side of the cabinet, one on top of the other. hehe stole idea from Reiki's blog. That way you can have one more shelf below!!
-
