  1. I also thought of buying domino gas hob. Saw Teka, Cuizino, Brandt. Thought that the hob so small and cute, can save space. Then when I saw the price, I cannot believe my eyes. 1 burner more expensive than 4 burners. But of course the burner type will be different. Then want to consider 2 burner domino, but the space between the 2 burners so close together, so in the end, give up. bought the normal 74cm glass hob with 2 powerful burners. May take up more space than I like, but at least won't cook until pek chek!
  2. I used to look for an em at Serangoon North too. Cos I feel got good sch, got sheng siong, got a couple of buses, so ok lah, can consider. Saw 1 on advertisement. Mid floor only, but cov want 100k. I was like, huh? Serangoon North, not central leh. Even central, I also won't pay that amount. Bought TPY in the end.

    Reno Loan?

RHB will also require $500 cash from you to open an account with them for loan repayment. Reno loan admin fee, they'll deduct from your loan. OCBC also the same. You may also want to check out if you can do early repayment with the promotional rate.
  4. My current home has a pullout shower tap too. After some time, the shower button jammed, pipe leaked, cupboard wet, shower head stucked cannot pull out. In the end, just use it like a normal tap.
  5. For me, I would rather pay more if it helps to ensure a peace of mind. My expectation is that they should be of good quality and will last well, other than aesthetically pleasing. That's why I decided to get all my taps, including kitchen tap, from Hansgrohe for my new place even though it burnt a hole in my pocket. Calculation wise, for me, I actually intended to get those so-called cheaper but not-bad looking taps. Including showerheads, the total cost would come up to almost $600 including gst. The cheapest range from Hansgrohe (tap, mixer, shower x 2) after discount is about $750 wi gst. Of course the price difference will be greater if you get the other ranges. Again, it's all up to you which you want to get. Good luck.
  6. Hi, Well, to me , branded taps definitely look nicer and feel more solid. Quality wise I am inclined to think they are better too. However, function wise, they all do the same job. The prices are definitely very different. A mid-range wash basin tap from hansgrohe may cost $250 while a non-branded one can be bought at less than $50 if you are not particular about design. A slightly nicer looking one may cost about $100? It all depends on your preference and your budget. Don't forget that you'll be getting 2 of everything. Washbasin taps, baths mixers, normal showers x 2 may cost about $700-$1.4k from Hansgrohe. As for prices for other brands, I'm not so sure because I never go and look.
  7. Kind of ex, I think. Are switches included in your quote? I already find my electrical quote from my ID quite ex. Mine got switches, those big rocker switches for visible places and normal ones for hidden places. 1x13A and 2x13A same price as yours, but the rest are cheaper than yours. My install light and light point cost $40 altogether. Most expensive is my a/c pt at $100.
  8. Have not make the curtains yets, so have no idea about workmanship. The quote was given by Hong Ming. The guy gave me a 20% discount on the overall price and another smaller discount to round down the price. I'm still considering if I should get from them cos the material like not bad. But of course, if elsewhere got better price for similar material, I will sure be happy.
  9. You think I very young meh? I also old liao, that's why need more time to understand!! Tks. Will look forward to your pics.
  10. So, that means to say, you have 4 sets of curtains, each has day and night and each size is 8ft x 8ft, so 8 curtains altogether? Tks. Btw, got any pic to share?
  11. Hi. Welcome and have fun. Looking forward to your reno pics.
  12. I think for mine, will be twice yours for the kitchen door. I think my glass panels will have to be about 5ft each. 1 fixed and 1 top-hung sliding. But 5ft like very big. But ID say it's ok. He quoted me $1.4. Is it ex? My kitchen wall to wall about 12ft.
  13. Mine is a 12ft wall to wall, full height day curtain, 10ft wall to wall full height day and night curtains and 3 blinds. Also about $1.6k. So I'm not sure why it is considered expensive when a 8ft x 8ft is already $1.3k. Please advise? Thanks.
  14. Just to share my experience. I took a bank loan too. Recently, I went for my first appt on a Sat. After that, I went ot lawyer's office on following tue to sign documents and to hand over postdated cheque for cov and 5%. Also decide how to pay off bank loan, using cpf or cash, calculate all fees and everything. Lawyer said if 2 appt I dun want to go hdb, also can. He also said they will deduct stamp fee, lawyer fee, etc within 2 weeks after hdb approval for resale, deduct cpf lump sum about 1 wk before completion, and pay cov and 5% somewhere around that time too. As for completion date, before I go for 1st appt, I already asked lawyer how much time he need for paperwork. He said abt 5 wk. He gave me his earliest date and I worked with sellers on the 2nd appt date from there. So altogether, 1st to 2nd appt for me takes about 6 wks. HDB ok when I told them lawyer already said ok. My bank LO is valid for 6 mths, so it's not a problem when I signed otp in Feb and completion in June.
  15. Ya, the colour swatches can be quite different from the actual colour. Better to see it in bigger patches and near the window or under white light, if possible.
  16. I also bought a place with open concept kitchen. I plan to reno and put fixed glass panel and glass door. At least cooking, can close door. I dunno, but put back wall like a bit funny.
  17. They also charge gst separately.
  18. Congrats on getting your keys soon. Don't worry so much and have fun with your reno.
  19. Wah, can't imagine if I have to run after the ID every now and then. Actually now he run after me. Found him in January. May then sign. Hope after sign is not going to be the other way round. I so scared wait got defects, then dunno how to press them. Then in the end just, "ok lah, nevermind", and then wait unhappy. I also want armchair but no $ now. $ must reserve for other things first. Want to get the french kind of furniture but so ex. Saw 1 french pink velvet wooden white armchair, so sweet, but price $600. Heart pain.
  20. Yep. Noise factor very important. I got a friend who lives 1 min walk from MRT in Sembawang. 1 am also can hear the noise from the tracks. Extra loud also because outside is quiet. As for me, according to map, my current place is about 900m from MRT, but I don't mind taking a leisure stroll to the MRT now and then. Takes me about 10-15 min. Haiz, but shift to new house, not near MRT anymore.
  21. Round edge is good. I like round edge too cos I think it's safer for my kids. They like siao lang, always running blindly. But the package come like that, and only 1 type of dining table, cannot change to others, so we just ok it. Also a bit lazy to look for furniture le. Went to quite a few places and then cannot tahan anymore, so just settle everything at Cellini!
  22. Thanks. Wanted to pm you but your pm full. Anyway, the dining table and coffee table are part of a package from Cellini. Supposedly, the retail price is $380 for the coffee table. Package also includes sofa, tv console and queen bedframe. Not sure if they give discount for individual items.
  23. Went to look for some bathroom accessories today. Bought some because there is a package price. For the basins in both bathrooms For the master bathroom. Shower mixer cos in my current house, never use the sprout of the bath mixer, so now decide to just install a shower mixer instead. Also, opted for a longer shower bar. Paid extra $10 for it. For the common bathroom Really looking forward to my new home. Dunno when then can start reno and then move in...
  24. Mmm... I bought from them too. What did you buy?
