  1. Go for the real thing, genuine leather. PU leather is slightly diff fm synthetic leather (PVC).. It is leather made from the inner splits of the hide finished with a polyurethane coating. PU Leather is when a Polyurethane sheet is applied to a thin leather back when used in the furniture industry. A leather pattern can be stamped on the PU to make it look and feel like top grain leather. PVC - Polyvinyl Chloride is also manufactured in a similar manner but is normally placed on a cotton or polyester backing. Pattern can also be applied to the surface. PVC can be a more durable surface than PU, but does not feel like leather. Also referred to as Vinyl covering for Furniture use.
  2. only heard of UV Leather Conditioner used to treat leather seats & stuffs.. u did better double check with the salesperson what's UV Leather & how it's diff fm genuine leather.

  6. Stay cool guys. Bear in mind dat everyone is entitled to his own opinion n it's quite subjective due to e diff. level of service provided by possibly diff. IDs. I too encounter b4 IDs not rtn my calls or emails, I juz practice my consumer rights to take them off my list So end of e day, take opinion n feedbacks read in e forum w/ a pinch of salt n exercise ur own judgement when selecting a ID or contractor. Cheers!
  7. Congrats! The prenatal course is useful for 1st time parents as it helps to prepare both of u mentally on watz going to come. IMHO, it actually frighten my spouse a little seeing the birth video n etc.. other than that the taking care of BB module is quite useful. Other alternative is to buy bks to read up n attend the 'free' breastfeeding n taking care of newborn lessons after birth before your wife discharge fm the hospital. hope this helps
  8. Look for private nanny ard ur estate to bring him to n fro & bb sit for half a day or so.. shld not b too expensive

  11. Ever wonder why we don't eat Soybeans like any other beans? Like rice or wheat, soybeans are not normally harvested until they r dry n hard. Even after lengthy boiling, soybeans remain quite tough n a little bitter. More imptly, due to a digestive enzyme called trypsin which interferes wif protein digestion, soybeans r largely indigestible eaten whole even after cooking. Most of the bean's highly valuable protein just passes thru our system. No doubt it is for these reasons dat the Chinese learned to process the bean in other ways before cooking n consuming. These processes include pressing oil fm the beans, grinding n boiling to make soy milk, grinding, boiling n adding a coagulating agent to make tofu, n fermenting to create products like soy sauce and black beans. Whole fresh beans (mature beans picked before they dry) r used occasionally in dishes. Soy beans contain: - 37% protein (meat protein ranges from 15 - 20%) - 34% carbohydrates - 18% oil - a range of vitamins n minerals Soy products said to: - be very good for ur heart by reducing cholesterol n Inhibiting cholesterol oxidation - reduce the risk of cancer due to a family of chemicals called isoflavones - help prevent n treat osteoporosis - help diabetes sufferers - reduce menopausal symptoms
  12. There r a couple of different claims to who created these French fried potato, or French fries.. Nevertheless they r tasty treats http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mfrenchfry.html http://www.stim.com/Stim-x/9.2/fries/fries-09.2.html
  13. The True Origin of Kiwifruit Although its name strongly suggests a New Zealand origin, the kiwifruit is in fact, native to China's Yangzte Valley. Until midway through the 20th Century, the fruit was known as Chinese gooseberry. Once a commercial industry was developed in New Zealand, fruit growers apparently decided that the egg-shaped furry fruit bore a symbolic resemblence to their native flightless bird, the kiwi. Here was a fruit to call their own; and flog to the rest of the world, and so the Chinese gooseberry was reborn as the kiwifruit. If there is an irony in this story, this is it: China now imports quite a lot of kiwifruit from New Zealand.
  14. It takes TWO hands to . In every situation lies a decision and u hv a CHOICE. There're alwiz challenges when one faces a trial.. n a wrong decision or turn will easily take u off the track.. Finding reasons to justify our wrong doings & point fingers at other all seems so easy.. Also who r we to judge others while we all hv dirty laundries under ur bed? IMHO it all boils down to one's own moral values & self responsibilities (n yes we r made differently fm animals.. animal instinct yar.. but we hv a BRAIN dat can rationalize much better!). Be truthful to yourself, love each other n live a responsible life. When we stop worrying abt our rights, it set us in the right direction to move forward n continue on our journey. Recognize dat we r not perfect (learn to forgive n forget) n focus on what we can control (our responsibilities) it unleases our energy n potential for a greater course!
  15. Read links below if u r keen Bottomline.. these bulbs r better for de enviro bcoz they use less wattage for similar light, can last yrs longer than incandescent bulbs as there is no filament to burn out and have less mercury than other CFB. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_fluorescent_lamp http://www.nam.lighting.philips.com/us/eca...logs/p-5771.pdf
  16. Juz hv to buy the brackets & metal rod fm five metal shops. Note drilling on the ceramic wall tiles will b a challenge
  17. "jagged" laminate edge can be fixed either by sanding or re-laminating. As for mis-drilled holes it's typical dat they'll juz patch with some white cement. To request whole pcs replacement will need some hard bargining.. they probably will juz bring back & re-paste the white sticker laminate to make it less obvious.
  18. Basically LED lightings & fluorescent tubes hv better energy efficiency over conventional light bulbs & halogen bulbs. The key is to hv energy efficient lightings.. Also known as energy saving bulbs, eco bulbs or energy efficient light bulbs, low energy bulbs which typically last longer & use much less electricity, which means you save $$$! Commonly seen r spiral energy saving light bulbs fm Philips or Osram. The spiral designs r to ensure the maximum amount of light is dispersed. They start up quickly (unlike the older types), have a bright, warm-white light, and are all rated A under the EU Energy labelling scheme for maximum efficiency. fyi, how was dat achieve?? The name tell it all, energy saving bulbs are actually Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) More imptly, to save $$$ & energy, u shld alwiz switch off the lights when they are not needed.
  19. I had a customed made bkshelf as well.. abt the same size (can't recall the exact measurement though) paid ard 2.1K few yrs bk. I think it is worth as i can untilize the full space till ceiling height & my spouse hv tons of bks to store. Do consider on the nos of glass panel u intend to use (cleaning is one issue & hsekeeping of bk will seem messy if not properly display/ arranged).
  20. Logically u cld insist to hv the agent to b present. However, his contribution will b limited probably onli an observer or 3rd party witness. As long as both u n tenant r resonable ppl there shldn't b a big problem. Inspection in the last few days in broad daylight condition (defects r more visible) is recommended. U can n shld do ur own little inspection/ homework 1st, but b reasonable some typical wear n tear r expected.
  21. Err.. in fact u'll need a step-down transformer 240VAC to 110VAC.. i used to want to do dat but dun think it's worthwhile to hv a transformer inbtwn a USA lamp .. take up space & waste electricity too! any case if u r still keen u can source ard sim lim tower for one, probably cost ard 100 bucks or so depending on your electric apps power rating.
  22. I've used black galaxy fm India.. so far so gd no complaint. no ants insight too Granite processed in China use to hv warpage or uneveness, but they've came a long way to improve on dat. do note dat as all natural stone hv variant of color tone, choose darker color tone n it will b less obvious. Any case datz the beauty of a natural stones
  23. The formula is correct, but the elec. apps dun function efficiently.. some energy r loss thru' heat, resistance & etc.. The main energy "suckers" r the aircon which uses higher current.. dat the device can't b used, hence the 'limited' usefulness I would say.. Other than dat fridge is the nxt in line elec. apps which we on 24hrs/day, but then again nowadays we've 4 ticks energy efficiency fridge & so on.. u get the idea now, u probably wun get much out of the device..
