  2. measure the distance between centre of hole to the wall. u need that to purchase the adaptor! v important. see our baron 303 bowl here
  3. We are baron 303 users too! love it! however, we need to advice fellow forumers of the maintenance cost for seat replacement. WE recently replaced the seat cover and it cost $40 vs the normal oval seat S20. more details here
  4. hi all, we have used a BARON W303 for 4 years. not too bad... and we just changed the seat cover and have some comments. see the details here.
  5. We need to replace the tabletop too. anyone knows a good table-top contractor?
  6. when moving to new place, please change the whole toilet bowl!! it is a bacteria/ disease concentration point. See our blog
  7. Our flat has one side facing the evening sun. feels like an oven by 3-4pm. tried to investigate using solar films, but realized there is a hdb restriction on solar films with a reflective value of more than 20%. if it is not reflecting the heat, then what is the point, right? shut all windows, draw day curtains + curtains and hide in the rooms on the other end of the house. http://hdbrenovation2009.blogspot.sg/2010/08/making-long-shaped-living-room-feel.html thats what we do!
  8. try using anti-slip mat on a wet toilet floor and anti-slip towel outside toilet to dry your feet. worked well for us! For more details, see our blog here http://hdbrenovation2009.blogspot.sg/2012/05/wet-floor-toilet-design.html
  9. very nicelly done. we requested for slotted hole on the doors to allow the cabinet to ventilate. reduces the "shoe smell" see our blog here
  10. hi all! normally the feature wall is the highlight and is a more catchy/flashy colour than the rest of the colour scheme. orange is already a catchy colour. so u will need something different. ever tried textured paint from nippon? see our blog here
  11. We like to go to lightings.com.sg There is a showroom in balestier and another at 1 Jalan Berseh Road. Reasonable prices and good service so far. Most shops start offering with higher markups and finally offer a discount to close the order. Too tiring for us to negotiate, plus we will need to know the market prices well. See what we bought here
  12. Hi all, we just installed an Acorn ceiling fan. So far so good. You see the ceiling fan photos here. The seller was explaining to me that in Taiwan, there are only a few ceiling fan factories. but there are many OEM marketing companies. meaning that they brand and design their fans and get these few factories to make it on their behalf. essentially, the quality would be the same as the big Taiwan brands. No verification on that though... ... While shopping, we did a ceiling fan comparison chart, feel free to check for your reference.
  13. Too bad I just installed ceiing fans in my home before seeing this thread. would like to get bro's prices next time. I am not selling anything. But in case you guys want my personal comparison chart while shopping for a ceiling fan, see ceiling fan comparison chart
  14. hi all pls consider the maintenance cost for designer toilet bowls. esp the bowls that are odd sized ie non oval shapped we paid double for the designer the toilet seat over the normal ones. instead of retyping the info here, please see the details here
  15. hi... its true. make sure they install the toilet bowl properly esp that the hole spacing is matching to the t.bowl!! see our reno blogg here
  16. very nice toilet... love the mosiac look... reminds me of my parents place. we found designer toilet bowls more costly to maintain.... our toilet is more functional than elegant...
  17. hi omy, if you are buying some lightings, try asking the lighting contractor to install the ceiling fans for you. I recall they usually charge S$40 per pc. hi xspace, we have recently installed a new ceiling fan. before that we have done a comparison between 4 brands of fan. In case you are interested, feel free to read it here.
  18. Try a cheap temp way with a non-slip mat. Worked for us. See Details here
  19. I love how you place the sink at the window. it is quite hard to do so for hdb kitchens. to maintain a white kitchen with ease, make sure you have 3 things 1. good hood 2. lots of jif 3. a good helper Check out our kitchen http://hdbrenovation2009.blogspot.sg/2012/05/kitchen-design-concepts-and-specifics.html
  20. 'hi rockstar have you considered replacing the shower screen with a shower curtain? then you will have no wet-dry floor, but only wet floor. It worked really well for us. See the details here
  21. have done a fair bit of research on ceiling fans. in case anyone may need, feel free to take a look at our blog http://hdbrenovation2009.blogspot.sg/2013/05/ceiling-fan-comparison-chart.html
  22. sounds like a good deal! did you ask if kdk is still made in malaysia? We hear many distributors say that kdk is now made in china. do not know how true that is. happened to complete a comparison for 5 models of ceiling fans, but kdk was not on the list. see our humble renovation blog if you're interested, http://hdbrenovation2009.blogspot.sg/2013/05/ceiling-fan-comparison-chart.html
  23. i guess it is also a personal choice. we chose a no-frills option. no cove lights, no down lights. just the ceiling fan attached with lights. supported with wall lights take a look at the photos and the explanation here
