  1. I'm curious what happen if a bank does "run away" or say collapsed and no one takes over? Does that mean we don't have to pay installment anymore???
  2. Every local banker will tell you this myth. Frankly, no banks will be to your advantage if things turn sour. So my opinion is go to the one that offer you best rate (that is usually from oversea banks). Then again, do check their records, there are some foreign banks that are not so friendly or location oriented. You might have difficulty when you need quick assistance.
  3. Frankly, this is a one-sided story. I read many good review of this company before i approach them. True enough, i find the ID i talked to, very sincere. I am not judging anyone here. Just my experience.
  4. Hi, I have signed up 2&3 with a flooring company. For 1, still stuck between composite or wood decking? I will most likely go for real wood (smaller gap and better feel). The next headache is which type of wood??!!! Can PM me contacts for heaveatech or any website? Anyone done with Pine wood for non-sheltered outdoor decking?
  5. My brother has his house done by them. Personally, i find their design and carpentry workmanship questionable. That is why i never proceed with them for my new house.
  6. Do you know that different ID from the same firm can give you very different pricing? ID's experience, current workload, time-frame and of course, the degree of reno are just some reasons for their pricing. So if someone recommend you a good ID, try to stick with that person. He/she might have his own set of co-workers who can re-produce the good quality job.
  7. Try berrylocs (spelling?). They are from Belgium, water/fire/scratch resistance. Buy direct from factory and they'll come with lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects. Best part is they have 8-9mm thick.
  8. If they are just stains, i recommend you try to remove with HCL first. Sanding parquet flooring will 'thin' down your wood. If worker over do, it could damage the clips between them, rendering some to pop out in future.
  9. You might want to try Best Ind Door T:6472 3633
  10. Hi Tim, We have 9 Sanyo units running on 5 compressor. As they are all concealed within the wall, am i restricted to certain brands of air-con if i wish to replace? What would you recommend? Also, do you sell KDK fans? Looking for few baby fans and the 60", all with remote control.
  11. Lite Fushion? Is it the one besides Ideal House? I also got some items from them. We did not compare pricing but service is good.
  12. I will go for corian top. Granite though tough but have limited choice. And i also don't like the joined back-splash.
  13. i have decided to go with them for my reno. Although not the cheapest quote i got, but i feel very comfortable with the ID. I will try to update my reno progress and end results later.

    Nice Wallpaper?

I have been reading about cost for wall paper, it appears to me average $250/roll. Even at roadshow promo is at best $220. We are talking about Korean wallpaper here. Recently, went to Maxim in Sin Ming, big shop with quite a range to choose from. It states $240/roll but when i ask, it say most are selling at $190/roll even it it has price tag of $240 (include installation) Hmm...what are the things i should check just to make sure we are comparing apple-to-apple?
  15. Hi, Are their pricing cheaper than newspaper advertised? I know cheapest place to get is M'sia. Almost half. But importing it is cumbersome and worse of all, they don't carry white!!???
  16. I find these hard selling tactic in Expo quite irritating. Frankly, i don't see they close many deal during the show. And most of them are not 'popular' in the market.
  17. Philips has a reseller in ShenZhen. If you know someone from HK, can import in. Price is much cheaper even after freight from SZ-HK-SG. Bought some E27 dimmer sets and found the price + freight still cheaper than Philips's last roadshow. But don't get Philips's LED downlight. Firstly, they dont come in square frame. Then, i found that their drivers are build-in! Anyone know where i can get good price for down-light (PLC/LED)? For LED, prefer they use HEP drivers. Need around 50 units.
  18. Can someone advise me if this Mr Chew has a shop front? address? Need to make curtains and roller blinds for my house, prefer to view and feel the material. Btw, has anyone install vertical blinds (not the individual strip types, all blinds joined together). Need to know if such blinds being so heavy is reliable?
  19. Hi Darren, What is your opinion on : Overlaying vinyl tiles over ceramic and parquet flooring? Assuming its an >10yr old house. *Should we hack away existing flooring for both or either one? * What about the groove lines between ceramic floor? Some say it will appear over time unless we do a cement layer. * I always wonder what happen when we wash the floor with wet mop? Will water get traps under the vinyl and get moldy overt time? There are just too many types in the market with various different name. I think most of them are just different composite of wood and vinyl inside. I've shortlisted some (None from China).
  20. Hi Tony,

Thanks for your contacts. After consulting my designer, we will go for homo tile instead of wood decking. Purely because i wanted a no maintenance flooring outside.

  21. Hi, Can you recommend the right wood for my new house? Area 1 : backyard Approximately 400sqft for outdoor dining. No shelter. Need light color wood decking with least maintenance. Area 2 : Room 1 Approximately 300sqft with skirting. Not timber laminate with those poppy feeling. Area 3 : MBR Approximately 400sqft. Preferably parque to match the walkway.
  22. Has anyone done wood-surface vinyl tile flooring before? I was told it cost like ceramic but has a parquet feel. Also, easy to maintain and much longer lasting. Any brands to recommend? PS: Sorry, should be wood surface, typo error
  23. I heard those paintings in LuoHu came from a street that specialized in all kinds of painting. A self portrait can go as low as S$100. Maybe need to make a trip there to shop for it?
  24. Bro., Its says free shipping, Is it really free?
  25. That is nice. You mentioned a month for him to paint it. Did you send him your photos as ref.? Mind to share your cost in the paintings and freight? i thought of sending kids photo for painters in Shenzhen. i was told it cost around S$100-200ea.
